Collaborate with Janssen to support scientific research


▪︎The head of the Healthcare Authority meets with the regional president of Janssen in Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Libya, and Ethiopia


▪︎Head of the Egypt Health Care Authority:
- Agreement to establish a center of excellence for oncology treatment in Aswan Governorate. And a unit for completed practice IPU in collaboration with Janssen. He stresses the importance of transferring countries' expertise in the field of oncology
- Agreement in principle to launch a digital platform to list new treatments, allowing the Authority's medical staff to continuously review the latest treatments and therapeutic developments in all specialties

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egypt healthcare  Authority for Health Care, met with Dr. Ahmed Sami Al-Hofy, Regional President of Janssen Pharmaceuticals—one of Johnson & Johnson's international companies—in Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Libya, and Ethiopia, at the Authority's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital
During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El Sobky announced that it was agreed to establish a Center of Excellence for Oncology Treatment in Aswan Governorate, in addition to a Complete Practice Unit (IPU) in cooperation with Janssen Company, which represents a qualitative shift in providing advanced specialized care services, while emphasizing the importance of exchanging and transferring global expertise in the field of oncology treatment and applying the latest global models in integrated care.


Pointing out that it was agreed in principle to launch a specialized digital platform to include the latest new treatments, allowing medical personnel at the Health Care Authority to continuously be informed of the latest therapeutic developments in various medical specialties, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the medical service and improving the patient experience.
The chairman of the authority stressed that cooperation with Janssen includes supporting scientific research and introducing the latest treatments in multiple specialties, most notably oncology, immunology, and mental health, in addition to providing treatments for rare diseases within the authority's facilities, which enhances the efficiency of health care provided to the patient in line with international standards.


In a related context, Al-Sabki explained that the cooperation also extends to training the Authority's human cadres on communication skills and medical cadres on the latest innovative treatment technologies and methods in oncology treatment, in addition to training programs on digital transformation mechanisms and artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, in support of the Authority's efforts in digital transformation and providing smart and sustainable healthcare.
Dr. El Sobky also noted that cooperation with Janssen is set to enhance the Authority's medical tourism project under the umbrella of the "We Care for You in Egypt" brand, as it was agreed to provide all medicines in various medical specialties, with a focus on treatments for rare diseases, which contributes to attracting expatriates from abroad and meets the needs of local patients, as well as enhancing the efficiency and quality of medical services provided to expatriates from outside Egypt.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki, Regional President of Janssen, and his accompanying delegation were invited to visit the Virtual Care Hospital in Ismailia and to see the National Center for Health Data Sciences and Artificial Intelligence Applications, stressing that the center will become a regional house of expertise in developing innovative technological solutions in the health sector.
For his part, the regional president of Janssen expressed his happiness with the growing strategic partnership with the General Authority for Health Care, praising the unprecedented development he witnessed in health infrastructure and an ambitious vision for digital transformation and the integration of artificial intelligence into medical care.


He added, "We see Egypt as a promising strategic partner in the field of healthcare and innovation, and we are committed to supporting the Authority's efforts in providing advanced healthcare services, particularly in the areas of oncology, immunology, and mental health. We also attach special importance to building human capabilities and enhancing the scientific research environment, which contributes to localizing therapeutic solutions and meeting patients' needs efficiently and with high quality.
