Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatment

Irritant colon syndrome is a chronic and common health condition affecting the large intestine (colon), causing abdominal cramps and bloating, in some cases, symptoms can be controlled by adhering to a balanced diet and lifestyle and avoiding stress. Family History

 

Diagnosis
Diagnosis often depends on the exclusion of problems or other diseases similar to them and the conduct of medical examinations such as:

Clinical Examination
-Medical History
-Laboratory analysis: Blood and stool analysis
-Other tests include X-ray, CT scan, and colonoscopy.

 

Prevention and treatment
Treatment depends on the alleviation of symptoms; To be able to live with it, most symptoms can be controlled in minor cases with some lifestyle adjustments, and if the condition is more difficult and severe, the doctor may prescribe some medications to relieve them such as:

Anti-diarrhoea
Antidepressants
Anti-abdominal contractions

 

Tips for relieving IBS symptoms:

1-Drink More liquids, especially water.
2-Avoid drinks such as tea, coffee, energy drinks, and soft drinks that may irritate the colon.
3-Avoid foods that increase gases: cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage
4-Make sure to eat small meals and regularly
5-Avoid eating dairy products with lactose allergies
6-Reduce tension, by deep breathing and relaxation
7-Quitting smoking
8-Regular exercise
9-Probiotic supplements that promote the growth of good germs
10-Fiber-rich supplements: such as psyllium peels
11-Use of laxatives
