The Egyptian HealthCare Authority was established under Act No. 2 of 2018 on the Comprehensive Health Insurance System (UHIS) as an independent body.
The Authority acts as a provider of public health care services by law. The Authority consolidates and renovates public health care services and facilities, improves public perception of the services provided by the State, and leads the paradigm shift towards a new and innovative health system that makes the lives of our people easier and thus happier.
EHA's main objective is to provide high quality public health care services in a professional and attractive work environment that meets the needs of Patients and the workforce alike. They are administered in accordance with the principles of equality and justice, based on the latest international standards and the latest technology, ultimately ensuring equal access for all Egyptians to high-quality health care services.
The EGYPT HealthCare Authority has worked tirelessly to become an effective member of the international health community. She was a member of the International Federation of Hospitals (IHF) and the Arab Federation of Hospitals (AHF), demonstrating her commitment to improving and developing healthcare services.
The Health Care Authority attaches great importance to planning health services, and is cooperating with all partners in the comprehensive health insurance project to ensure the extension of the insurance umbrella and the provision of insurance service packages and their provision within an integrated framework of quality, efficiency and adequacy, whether through its current facilities or in the governorates that will enter the scope of application of the health insurance project Comprehensive (Luxor - Ismailia - South Sinai - Suez - Aswan).
The Care Authority adopts the system based on the family doctor, which is the first outlet to receive the service and referral to higher levels is made through the basic care and family health units. 9 hospitals and 35 units and centers in Port Said governorate will be entrusted to the Authority to provide all health services to the beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority.
The Authority's health facilities are divided into the first level, which is the first point of contact for beneficiaries, which includes (family medicine units and centers) entrusted with the care of a number of families residing in the geographical scope of the unit or center.
Primary care services are provided through family medicine units and centers according to linking families to the geographical scope of these units and centers. The Care Authority shows great interest in promoting the concept of family medicine as well as building this referral system, in addition to promoting correct clinical practices in the various emergency departments and providing specialized treatment and diagnostic services within the Authority’s hospitals care.
The comprehensive health insurance system is based on social solidarity and its umbrella covers all citizens of the Arab Republic of Egypt; The system provides a set of health insurance services that include the provision of all medical services (diagnostic, treatment, rehabilitative, medical and laboratory examinations) on the basis of justice and equality, based on the application of comprehensive health coverage to include all Egyptians by 2030.
In accordance with the Comprehensive Health Insurance Law and its executive regulations, the Health Care Authority is working to rehabilitate all its health facilities in accordance with the registration and accreditation standards with the Health Accreditation and Control Authority, which resulted in the registration of 30 units and family medicine centers and the registration of 7 hospitals.

With over 7,000 successful procedures in the past five years, EHA excels in adult and pediatric cardiac care.
