They are stomach-inflammatory bacteria that live and reproduce in the stomach-lining walls. Most people with spiral bacteria are asymptomatic and will never develop problems. However, hardship may occur, and feel pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen. Bacteria infect protective tissue lining the stomach, releasing certain enzymes and toxins and activating the immune system; Causing chronic inflammation in stomach walls gastroenteritis, or duodenitis.
