Egypt Healthcare Authority: 18 kidney transplants have been successfully performed at the 30th of June International Center for Kidney Diseases and Urology in Ismailia, achieving global success rates since it was licensed as the first kidney transplant center in the Canal Region by the standards of the Supreme Committee for Organ Transplantation.
The Egypt Healthcare Authority announced that the 30th of June International Center for Kidney Diseases and Urology has successfully performed 18 kidney transplants since it was licensed as the first kidney transplant center in the Canal Region in accordance with the Supreme Committee for Organ Transplantation’s requirements.
The Authority highlighted the center’s extensive medical services provided since the launch of the universal health insurance system in the governorate. Nearly 1 million services have been offered, including 10,500 surgeries and advanced procedures, as well as 210,000 dialysis sessions for patients benefiting from the center’s services.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the center includes 108 dialysis machines and three operating rooms built to capsule standards, as used in leading global medical institutions.
The center serves as a specialized medical hub for treating kidney and urological diseases. It provides comprehensive care packages in line with the latest global protocols, including treatment for acute and chronic kidney failure, kidney stones, and kidney infections, as well as dialysis services. The center is staffed by a team of consultant and specialist physicians dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of care. The dialysis unit's preparation cost amounted to EGP 30 million.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, emphasized that the 30th of June Center is a pioneering model for exceptional healthcare services in governorates under the universal health insurance system. It is the first specialized center affiliated with the Authority in the Canal Region to achieve national accreditation by GAHAR, recognized by the ISQua global standards.
Dr. El-Sobky also highlighted that the center’s kidney transplant program, operated by a highly skilled and multidisciplinary medical team, has achieved global success rates, reflecting the Authority’s dedication to providing top-tier healthcare services comparable to those of leading international institutions.
