The Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority and the Governor of Port Said inaugurated the Al-Shifa Dialysis Center at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex of the Health Care Authority in Port Said.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance and Hayah Kareema projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, and Major General Staff Adel Al-Ghadhban, Governor of Port Said, opened today the Al-Shifa Dialysis Center at Al-Shifa Medical Complex of Egypt Healthcare Authority in Port Said Governorate.


This came during the field visit of Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, which he conducted to Port Said Governorate, today, which he began with a meeting with Major General Staff Adel Al-Ghadhban, Governor of Port Said, followed by the opening of the December 23 building at Al-Salam Hospital, which is also affiliated with Egypt Healthcare Authority in the governorate, and then the opening of the Al-Shifa Laundry Center. The opening activities included the presentation of a documentary video about the services of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and the services of the new Al-Shifa Dialysis Center at the Medical Complex, followed by an inspection tour of the center and an inspection of the examination, isolation and emergency rooms, in addition to an inspection of the dialysis halls, and a survey of the opinions of beneficiaries about the medical services provided at the center during the period The trial operation, where the beneficiaries praised the quality of services and adherence to patient safety and security standards, expressing their strong satisfaction with the service and the efficiency of the medical and administrative staff at the Al-Shifa Dialysis Center.


Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky pointed out that the Al-Shifa Dialysis Center at Al-Shifa Medical Complex consists of two floors, and includes 43 dialysis machines, and the latest high-level medical and non-medical equipment. The center provides integrated health care services for kidney patients, and is attached to outpatient clinics for continuous follow-up of patients, whether sick or not. Dialysis or post-kidney transplantation, stressing the quality of medical and non-medical equipment at the Al-Shifa Center for dialysis, and stressing that the center includes an elite group of the most skilled consultant doctors and kidney disease specialists, and provides its services to the people of Port Said Governorate and the Canal Region.


El-Sobky added that Al-Shifa Medical Complex is the largest medical edifice in Port Said Governorate, pointing out that it provides many medical and therapeutic services within Egypt Healthcare Authority system in the governorate, noting that the construction cost and medical and non-medical equipment for the first phase of the complex, “Solidarity Hospital,” amounted to more than 400 million pounds, including 350 million pounds for the construction cost, more than 50 million pounds for the cost of completing the medical equipment, and more than 25 million pounds for the non-medical equipment, pointing out that more than 400,000 services have been provided so far at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex.


El-Sobky noted that Al-Shifa Medical Complex includes more than 300 inpatient beds, in addition to reception and emergency departments, outpatient clinics, rooms equipped at the highest level for operations and intensive care, integrated units for oncology treatment, surgical endoscopy, an integrated dialysis center, and various radiology departments, laboratories, and a blood bank. And a pharmacy, as well as a number of suites and hotel rooms to provide a healthy and calm environment for patients, ensuring the provision of the greatest amount of integrated and Universal health care services to citizens without the need to move to more than one place, and achieving the highest rates of satisfaction with the service.


El-Sobky continued: Egypt Healthcare Authority system has achieved unprecedented progress in the level of health service provided to citizens, through the development of medical facilities, whether Universal medical complexes, hospitals, or primary health care centers and units, in addition to training, qualifying and developing medical, administrative and technical human cadres. Optimum employment and use of the latest medical systems, capabilities and technologies to ensure the highest levels of quality of service.


For his part, Major General Staff Adel Al-Ghadhban, Governor of Port Said, confirmed that Port Said has become witnessing a distinguished medical level after implementing Egypt Healthcare Authority system, stressing that the system has brought about a major transformation in infrastructure and information.
