4 years harvest by the Egypt Healthcare Authority of the Universal Health Insurance System Four years
after the launch of the new Universal health insurance system by the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, President Abd-elfattah El-Sisi, the historic leader of Egypt Universal health reform, from Port Said governorate in July 2019, the system was officially launched in November of the same year.
The General Authority for Health Care, headed by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, and the General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance and Decent Life Projects of the Ministry of Health and Population, has announced the most significant achievements of the Authority, as the main State arm in regulating and regulating the provision of the services of the Universal Health Insurance System, through the implementation of the four years of its implementation.
The Infographic referred to the launch of the Universal health insurance system in four provinces to date, which began in July 2019 with the pilot launch of the system from the province of Port Said, the nucleus of the new system. In February 2021, H.E. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has established more than 4.3 million consolidated medical files in the departments of the Universal Health Insurance System. The total number of approved and registered medical establishments of the Authority, in accordance with the standards of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control (GAHAR), is 127.
More than 52 hospitals and 320 district family medical units and centers have been developed and established through the Ministry of Health and Population at a cost of more than £53 billion, which has resulted in a reduction in personal spending rates from the pocket from 62.3% to less than 47% in Port Said governorate after one year of application, a 100% mechanization of primary care units and centers in the first phase of the Universal Health Insurance governorates and 85% of hospitals.
More than 3.5 million medicines and medical supplies have been supplied in accordance with the global GS1 code, in cooperation with the Egyptian Medicine Authority and the United Procurement Authority. More than 18 million mechanized prescriptions have been issued and the electronic prescription system has been successful. The number of doctors and nurses in the Agency medical facilities has been doubled, wage scales have been improved, and 5322 training programs have been offered to medical staff in the governorates health-care facilities.
