Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, inspected the Suez Medical Complex, the largest medical edifice affiliated with the Health Care Authority in the Canal Region.
On behalf of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Chairman of the Health Care Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, the Minister of Health and Population was received by Dr. Amir Al-Telwani, Executive Director of the Health Care Authority, who accompanied him during his tour today at the Suez Medical Complex.
The authority’s statement explained: The Minister of Health and Population inspected the various departments of the complex, surveyed citizens’ opinions about the level of medical service provided at the complex, and praised the level of distinguished medical service provided at the Suez Medical Complex, stressing that the complex will achieve a qualitative leap in the services and health care provided to citizens in the governorate, and will save the beneficiaries transportation. To another governorate to obtain the medical service they need.
It is worth noting that the Suez Medical Complex is the largest medical complex serving the residents of the Canal Territory and the New Administrative Capital. The total cost of constructing and equipping it amounted to 3 billion pounds, and all medical specialties are available in it, while the capacity of the Suez Medical Complex is 427 beds, including 263 beds for internal residence, and 109 Intensive care beds, 70 dialysis beds, 28 emergency beds, 54 nurseries, and 16 operating rooms, including 4 rooms for caesarean section and natural birth, and an endoscopy unit, in addition to 4 specialized centers “kidney and urology diseases, ophthalmology and surgery, heart diseases and catheterization, and burns.” It also has 64 outpatient clinics.
The complex also includes a number of medical departments, such as vascular surgery, burns department, stroke unit, plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, spine surgery, cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, and treatment. Physical and rehabilitation, kidney, urology, endoscopy unit, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, liver, children, dental, psychological and neurological, intensive care, premature incubators, heart and catheterization, emergency, diagnostic radiology, as well as a department for laboratories “chemistry and blood, immunology, and parasitology.” , histology, microbiology, and a department for radiology (panorama, gamma camera, osteoporosis, fluoroscopy, X-ray, sound waves, magnetic resonance imaging, CT, mammography), in addition to the collection blood bank and pharmacies in the complex.
