Chairman of the HealthCare Authority: Egypt is pleased to host global health leaders and intellectuals to participate in the 70th meeting of Northern and Eastern Mediterranean Health Ministers and to celebrate Egypt HIV-free status.

Chairman of the HealthCare Authority: Egypt presented an exceptional model in eliminating the C virus at a record time with the vision and support of political leadership, becoming the first country in the world to eradicate the virus.

Chairman of the HealthCare Authority: Egypt faced the Corona crisis professionally in parallel with the implementation of presidential initiatives and the realization of the dream of implementing the universal health insurance system, which has become a reality in six governorates.

Chairman of the HealthCare Authority: The State is working and will work on many health initiatives and projects to complement the political leadership programs in health reform and to mainstream the universal health insurance system into universal health coverage in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030

The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Egypt commends the efforts of the Egyptian State in recent years to improve public health indicators and to work on all areas of health, starting with the prevention and early detection of diseases and health surveys, and commends the efforts of the Health Care Authority in providing an advanced model of health care in Egypt with universal quality.

On Monday morning, the President of the Public Authority for Health Care and the General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance and Decent Life Projects of the Ministry of Health and Population participated in the "Health Say and Work Walk the Talk," which took place on the margins of the seventieth session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Northern and Eastern Mediterranean States.

In the presence of Dr. Tidrós Adhanum Gibrisius, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Ahmed Al-Museeri, Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Northern and Eastern Mediterranean States, Dr. Naima Al-S short, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), Egypt, Dr. Jalila Bint, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and a number of WHO leaders at the WHO Geneva office and the leadership of the WHO regional and country offices in Cairo.

Dr. Ahmed El-sobky delivered his statement during the "Health Say and Work" event on the occasion of the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee, as well as the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the World Health Organization (WHO), congratulating them on their role and efforts to organize this important event and supporting them in improving and developing the quality of health services in the countries of the region, and promoting the exchange of experiences and successful practices of States in order to contribute to the improvement of the health system in all the countries of the region.

Egypt was pleased to host world-wide health leaders and intellectuals to participate in the 70th meeting of ministers of health of the Northern and Eastern Mediterranean region and to celebrate Egypt HIV-free status, noting that Egypt had offered an exceptional model in eliminating the C virus at a record time with the vision and support of political leadership and had become the world first country to eradicate the virus.

Dr. Ahmed El-sobky noted that Egypt had faced the Corona crisis professionally in parallel with the implementation of presidential health initiatives and the realization of the dream of implementing the universal health insurance system, which had become a reality in six governorates of Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Aswan and Suez. He noted that the State was working and would work on many health initiatives and projects to complement the political leadership programs in health reform and to mainstream the universal health insurance system, moving towards universal health coverage in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

His Excellency President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi, the President of the Republic, affirmed that Egypt had restored its international status and had become a model for many health issues and had become a successful example in most international forums. That confirmed Egypt strength and international leadership.

He stressed the importance of building a strong and sustainable health system based on inclusiveness, quality and integration. He also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation and common regional endeavors to achieve sustainable development goals, accelerate the achievement of universal health coverage and ensure universal access to health services. He expressed confidence that the seventieth session of the Regional Commission would be an important opportunity to exchange experiences, knowledge and cooperation among the member States of the region and would contribute to the promotion, protection and universal access of health in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

For his part, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) thanked Egypt for hosting the 70th Meeting of Ministers of Health of the Northern and Eastern Mediterranean Region, noting that Egypt was well advanced in the process of health reform, which was evident in Egypt elimination of HIV/AIDS and the implementation of the universal health insurance system. We continue to strive to support all countries in achieving the principle of health for all and promoting the health of individuals and communities in all countries.

The WHO Regional Director for Northern and Eastern Mediterranean noted that the 70th session meetings of the WHO Regional Committee had a major objective: "To move towards a healthier future in the Northern and Eastern Mediterranean region and to promote, protect and provide health for all and all." He continued: in the countries of the region, we strive to support all health reform programs to achieve sustainable development goals.

The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) commended Egypt for its efforts in recent years to improve public health indicators and to work on all health-related topics, beginning with the prevention and early detection of diseases and health surveys. She also commended the efforts of the Public Authority for Health Care to successfully provide an advanced model of health care in Egypt and for its global quality.

 

It should be noted that the effectiveness of the "health say and act" was established at the Children's Park in front of the headquarters of the WHO Regional Office in Cairo, an initiative launched by the World Health Organization (WHO), a global movement to promote health and physical activity in particular as part of a healthy and sustainable future, on the margins of the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee, which takes place from Monday, 9 October, to Thursday, 12 October, 2023, at WHO regional headquarters in Cairo under the slogan "Going towards a healthier future in the Northern and Eastern Mediterranean region." Promotion, protection and access to health for all and for all."
