The Egypt Health Care Authority announces the successful accreditation of Taba and Saint Catherine Hospitals in the South Sinai Governorate, according to nationally recognized international standards.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki, chief of the Egypt Health Care Authority, stated that 20 health facilities in South Sinai Governorate have been accredited at various levels. He emphasized that the accreditation of Taba and Saint Catherine Hospitals according to international quality standards enhances medical tourism in South Sinai.
Dr. El-Sabki valued the efforts of the teams at Saint Catherine and Taba Hospitals and everyone who contributed their efforts to achieve GAHAR national accreditation, recognized by the international organization ISQua.
Dr. El-Sabki also noted the commitment to elevate the facilities in regions frequented by international visitors to meet "JCI and Temos" international quality standards.

The Egypt Health Care Authority has announced the successful accreditation of Taba and Saint Catherine Hospitals in South Sinai Governorate, having met the national accreditation standards (GAHAR) recognized internationally by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua).
The statement from the Egypt Health Care Authority detailed that the capacity of Saint Catherine and Taba Hospitals reached 50 beds, including 17 for emergency reception, 23 for inpatient care, and 10 for intensive care, with a total of 33 residency beds.
The statement continued, outlining the medical and therapeutic services provided at Taba and Saint Catherine Hospitals in South Sinai Governorate throughout 2023. Emergency departments at both hospitals saw 9,000 visitors, and outpatient clinics served 10,000 patients.
Additionally, Taba Hospital, built on a 3,300 square meter area and upgraded in 2020 according to the comprehensive health insurance standards, offers services in emergency reception, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, intensive care, radiology, outpatient clinics, pharmacies, inpatient wards, and a blood bank. Meanwhile, Saint Catherine Hospital provides services in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, emergency care, dialysis, neonatal care, surgery, orthopedics, general surgery, radiology, and laboratory services.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki, President of the Egypt Health Care Authority and Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, pointed out that this accreditation brings the total number of accredited health facilities in South Sinai to 20, including four hospitals with final accreditation and 16 family medicine centers and hospitals with preliminary accreditation, paving the way for final accreditation.
Dr. El-Sabki added that the accreditation of Taba and Saint Catherine Hospitals according to international quality standards boosts medical tourism in South Sinai. He highlighted that South Sinai is one of the most important global tourist destinations, boasting numerous medical tourism assets and extensive medical and non-medical infrastructure, which is a key focus of the Egypt Health Care Authority's work in the province to transform it into a regional and global center for medical tourism under its "We Care for You in Egypt" initiative.
Dr. El-Sabki expressed his satisfaction with the final accreditation of the hospitals in South Sinai, appreciating the efforts of the staff and all contributors who helped meet the accreditation standards according to global quality requirements.
