The Healthcare Authority signs a cooperation protocol with Allianz to expand the provision of medical services to international patients

The Egypt Health Care Authority signed two cooperation protocols with "Allianz" to expand medical services for international patients and contribute to treating waiting lists abroad, and with "Medtronic" to exchange expertise in training healthcare providers on the latest medical devices and technologies for treating patients in the universal health insurance provinces.

The Egypt Health Care Authority announced the signing of two bilateral cooperation protocols with Allianz Partners and Medtronic Egypt, aimed at enhancing cooperation in various healthcare fields, during the Africa Health ExCon 2024 events.

The signing of the protocols was witnessed by Professor Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the Egypt Health Care Authority and Supervisor General of the Universal Health Insurance and Hayat Karema projects at the Ministry of Health and Population; Dr. Hany Rashed, Vice President of the Egypt Health Care Authority; along with several healthcare leaders and specialists from Egypt, Arab countries, and the world.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the Egypt Health Care Authority, stated that the cooperation areas include with Allianz Partners expanding medical services for international patients and contributing to treating waiting lists abroad, and with Medtronic Egypt exchanging expertise in training healthcare providers on the latest medical devices and technologies for treating patients in the universal health insurance provinces.

Dr. El-Sobky expressed his pleasure with the signing of today's cooperation protocols with Allianz Partners and Medtronic, emphasizing that the Authority owns health facilities with advanced infrastructure and global-level medical and non-medical setups, as well as electronic work systems and qualified health staff. He affirmed that these elements collectively enable us to achieve more at the highest level of professionalism. He added: We are moving forward in opening up to the world to cooperate and exchange expertise to ensure the construction of strong, effective, flexible, and sustainable healthcare systems.

Dr. El-Sobky also mentioned that the Authority is keen on enhancing the application of the partnership concept between the government and private sectors due to their positive impact on improving healthcare quality. On the other hand, Iman Ali, Regional Vice President of Medtronic for Africa, emphasized the key role of the Egypt Health Care Authority in achieving the Sustainable Health Development Goals 2030. She expressed their happiness to cooperate with the Authority to implement its strategy in training health personnel on the latest medical devices and technologies, believing that this cooperation will significantly improve the quality of healthcare and promote innovation in this vital field.

The protocols were signed on behalf of the Egypt Health Care Authority by Dr. Amir Talawani, Executive Director of the Authority, representing the Authority. From Allianz Partners, Mr. Luay Jalda, CEO, represented the company, and from Medtronic, Mrs. Iman Ali, Regional Vice President for Africa, represented the company.

It should be noted that the medical conference and exhibition "Africa Health 2024" is held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and organized by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and Technology Management under the slogan "Your Gateway to Innovation and Trade" at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo, from June 3 to 6 this year.
