The Egypt Health Care Authority Chairman meets with the Huawei delegation to discuss aspects of cooperation that can enhance the digitization of medical services and health care technology.

The Chairman of the Egypt Health Care Authority showcases the achievements of digitization and smart applications in the Comprehensive Health Insurance system, including the creation of 6 million electronic files and the digitization of 100% of family medicine facilities in the Comprehensive Health Insurance governorates. He also highlights the issuance of 50 million electronic prescriptions and 3.1 million documented radiology images as part of the digital transformation efforts of health services by the Authority in the first phase governorates of the Comprehensive Health Insurance.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Health Care Authority and the General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance project, met with Mr. Eric Chuang, Vice President of Huawei Enterprise Egypt, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss cooperation in the field of medical service digitization and health care technology.

The Chairman of the Egypt Health Care Authority began the meeting by showcasing the Authority's capabilities and its efforts in digitization and telemedicine over the past 5 years, highlighting the creation of 6 million electronic records for beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and the digitization of 100% of the units and family medicine centers in the six governorates of the Comprehensive Health Insurance system.

He mentioned the issuance of 50 million electronic prescriptions and the documentation of 3.1 million radiographic images electronically, in addition to the benefits from artificial intelligence applications and smart digital solutions in remote diagnostics and telemedicine, especially in border provinces and remote areas.

The Chairman listened to a presentation about Huawei's services and the main digital service packages and solutions that the company offers to develop health care services, including equipment or artificial intelligence applications that aim to develop the concept of digital health care.

The Chairman of the Egypt Health Care Authority explained the main areas of cooperation with Huawei to support the Authority's future strategies for service digitization, artificial intelligence applications in health care, and to benefit from their expertise in developing the digital infrastructure of the Authority's affiliated hospitals and smart hospital technology, as well as knowledge transfer in training.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky expressed his pleasure to discuss cooperation with Huawei, considering it a leading company in information technology, in addition to its large business volume and significant role in developing health care technology applications. He noted that cooperation with Huawei is a step towards enhancing digital transformation in health care and keeping up with global developments in e-health with its advanced technological solutions.

On his part, the Vice President of Huawei Enterprise Egypt expressed his desire to continue cooperation with the Egypt Health Care Authority to provide all services related to the development of digital infrastructure, contributing to the improvement of health services, praising the strategic direction of the Authority for digital transformation of health services, which reflects the evolution of management thought in the health care services sector, and the future vision for using health technology extensively, as well as the Egypt Health Care Authority's awareness of global developments in evolving methods and forms of health care delivery.

The meeting included representatives from the Egypt Health Care Authority, such as Dr. Magdi Bekr, Advisor to the Chairman for Technical Affairs, and Major General Hisham Shindy, Advisor to the Chairman for Health Technology and Telemedicine, among others.
