Presidential Health Advisor: Doctors enjoy constant appreciation from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi; they are the backbone of national health security. Their dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic was a true embodiment of patriotism and humanity.

Dr. Awad Tag El-Din: Egypt has produced world-class medical pioneers. We are proud of the professional and ethical standards of Egyptian doctors at home and abroad. The state remains committed to providing them with financial and moral support.

Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority: Under President El-Sisi’s leadership, doctors have received unprecedented attention through legislation aimed at improving and safeguarding the healthcare system, along with exceptional privileges and incentives.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky: Today marks the launch of two new associations — one to support the Authority’s staff and their families, and another for employee housing — as part of our broader objective to strengthen employee loyalty and institutional belonging.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar: The Ministry of Health has launched a comprehensive strategy to care for healthcare providers. The Minister is keen on ensuring full support for physicians in recognition of their role in serving the nation.

Chairman of the Senate Health Committee: We are working with the government on legislative reforms that ensure a safe and motivating work environment for healthcare teams. We’re also exploring sustainable solutions to retain medical talent within Egypt.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky and the Medical Syndicate President honored pioneers of Egypt’s medical sector with certificates of recognition for their distinguished contributions to the healthcare system.

They also honored the Liver Transplant Team at Ismailia Medical Complex, as well as digital transformation leaders who have excelled in adopting health tech within EHA facilities.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky: This conference is a fitting occasion to honor the national medical icons who have greatly contributed to Egypt’s healthcare system. Digital transformation in healthcare is no longer optional — it's essential for enhancing care quality.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky added: The Egyptian state, under President El-Sisi’s leadership, is strongly committed to healthcare development by empowering medical professionals and investing in modern technologies.


The General Authority for Healthcare, led by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, launched the 2025 Egyptian Doctor’s Day Conference under the theme “Digital Health for a Better Future” — a tribute to doctors’ pivotal role in driving healthcare reform and achieving universal health coverage.

The conference was held in the presence of Presidential Health Advisor Dr. Awad Tag El-Din, Senate Health Committee Chair Dr. Hussein Khodair, and Syndicate President Dr. Osama Abdelhay, along with prominent officials, healthcare professionals, and private and civil sector partners.

Dr. Awad Tag El-Din praised Egyptian doctors as the front line of health security, noting their unwavering support from President El-Sisi. He commended their heroic role during the pandemic as an example of dedication and compassion.

He further noted that Egypt has produced renowned medical experts and leaders and that the state takes pride in their professional and ethical excellence both locally and internationally.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky emphasized that doctors have received exceptional support in recent years, thanks to reforms introduced under President El-Sisi. These include legislation that uplifts the healthcare system and unprecedented professional incentives.

He also announced the launch of two new associations — one focused on staff and family welfare, the other on housing — as part of EHA’s strategic plan to build a stable, motivating workplace.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Ministry of Health spokesperson, highlighted the Ministry’s comprehensive approach to supporting healthcare providers, under the guidance of Minister Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, who prioritizes physician welfare.

Dr. Hussein Khodair, Chair of the Senate Health Committee, affirmed that legislative reforms are underway to foster safer, more supportive work conditions for healthcare professionals and to retain medical expertise within Egypt.

He praised the EHA’s dual efforts in improving healthcare services and empowering its medical teams.

Dr. Osama Abdelhay, President of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, reiterated the Syndicate’s commitment to defending doctors’ rights, implementing new care and protection programs, and upholding the noble essence of the medical profession.


The event concluded with the honoring of Egypt’s healthcare pioneers, including:

  • Dr. Hala Zayed, Former Minister of Health and Population, recognized for her leadership during the COVID-19 crisis and national health initiatives.
  • Dr. Tarek El-Houby, Head of the National Food Safety Authority, for advancing public health through food safety standards.
  • Major General Dr. Bahaa El-Din Zidan, former Head of the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority, for strengthening Egypt’s medical supply chain and drug security.
  • Dr. Gamal Abou El-Sorour, IVF pioneer in Egypt and the region, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Al-Azhar University.
  • Major General Dr. Khaled Amer, Principal Investigator of the Egyptian Genome Project, for his role in scientific research and regenerative medicine.
  • Dr. Mohamed Mohamed El-Feky, Cardiac Surgeon, and Dr. Medhat Khafagy, Oncology Surgery Expert, both honored for their contributions to surgical advancements and medical training.
  • Dr. Soheir Abdel Hamid, Member of Parliament’s Health Committee, also received recognition.

In recognition of outstanding medical achievements, EHA also honored the Ismailia Liver Transplant Team, led by Dr. Osama Hegazy, for performing the Authority’s first living-donor liver transplant — a major milestone in Egypt’s complex surgical capabilities.

They also honored the Authority’s leading digital transformation champions, including:

  • Dr. Rody Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Oncology Consultant at Ismailia Medical Complex
  • Dr. Hatem Abdel Fattah, Dermatology Consultant at Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital
  • Dr. Mohamed Wafik El-Gammal, Cardiologist at Al-Nasr Hospital, Port Said
  • Dr. Mohamed Gamal Abdel Ghafar, General Practitioner, Esna Family Medicine Center, Luxor
  • Dr. Hend Omar Bin El-Khattab, Family Medicine Specialist, Al-Tawfiq Family Medicine Center, Suez

These professionals were recognized for pioneering digital registration tools, leveraging data systems, and advancing precision in patient care delivery.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky emphasized that honoring these icons underscores the importance of national expertise in shaping Egypt’s healthcare future — especially during crises — and reaffirmed the vital role of digital transformation in improving health services and aligning with global care standards.


The conference also featured a scientific session led by Dr. Gehan El-Sisi, Assistant Professor of Health Economics at Cairo and AUC, analyzing the cost-effectiveness of a cardiac treatment regimen.

Another panel discussion focused on “Leveraging Technology to Improve Healthcare Access and Delivery in Egypt,” featuring:
