Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority Oversees Strategic Update Efforts in Collaboration with the French Development Agency and International Experts
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, chaired a meeting with the Supreme Committee for Updating the Authority’s Strategy, supported by the French Development Agency and involving international experts from WHI Consulting. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s national directives for comprehensive and sustainable healthcare system development.
Dr. El-Sobky reviewed progress on the strategy update, emphasizing its importance in adapting to the rapid transformations of the AI era, where future changes are boundless. He noted that this requires creative thinking and skilled professionals to ensure the readiness of the healthcare system.
“We are committed to achieving an integrated, patient-centered healthcare system, leveraging digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and virtual hospitals, while ensuring the sustainability of technology applications and fostering a culture of innovation, adaptability, and change to meet future needs,” Dr. El-Sobky stated.
He further highlighted that post-2030, the Authority aims to transition from managing and operating healthcare facilities to becoming the state’s regulatory and organizational arm for delivering insured healthcare services through regional healthcare clusters.
Dr. El-Sobky directed the Supreme Committee to continue its efforts, organize workshops with international experts and speakers, and finalize the Authority’s strategy through a scientific and well-considered approach, with a clear roadmap for implementation. He also instructed the organization of training programs for central, general, and branch managers on the latest strategic management methods and advanced tools.
“Our goal is to present a comprehensive and clear strategy to all stakeholders, ensuring its sustainable and effective implementation under any circumstances,” Dr. El-Sobky added. “We also aspire to establish an Egyptian expertise agency, Expertise Egypt, to facilitate knowledge exchange at both national and international levels.”
