The Board congratulated His Excellency President El-Sisi, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Health and Population on the 11th anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, affirming the Egypt Healthcare Authority's ongoing efforts to continue the path of achievements and universal health reform in Egypt.

The Board reviewed the Authority's readiness and plans for the official operation of the universal health insurance system soon in Aswan and Suez, commending the executive body's performance in regulating healthcare services, human resource development, mechanization, digital transformation, and accreditation of health facilities during the pilot phase in Aswan and Suez.

The Chairman of the Board stated that more than 44 million medical and therapeutic services have been provided in the Authority's health facilities to beneficiaries of the universal health insurance system in the first-phase governorates, with international quality standards and a beneficiary satisfaction rate exceeding 91%.

The Chairman further reported the operational status of a medical complex and hospital and 26 family medicine units and centers in Suez, highlighting the completion of full and preliminary accreditation for 23 health facilities and the completion of 100% service mechanization in family medicine centers, outpatient clinics, and internal departments at the Suez Medical Complex, including 26 laboratories and 6 radiology departments and a surgical department.

The Chairman added that the total number of visits to the Authority's health facilities in Suez has exceeded 645,000 visits to outpatient clinics, internal departments, and emergency rooms since the start of the pilot operation last October. Additionally, eight new medical services have been introduced, including open-heart surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, spinal surgery, burns and cosmetic surgery, vascular surgery, specialized pediatric services, and a stroke treatment unit.

Regarding Aswan, the Chairman confirmed the completion of the transfer of 91 health facilities under the governorate's jurisdiction and the government's decision to transfer seven more health units to enhance medical and therapeutic services in the region as part of the ongoing universal health insurance project in the governorate.

In Aswan, four hospitals and 22 family medicine units and centers are operational, providing healthcare services to the residents. The accreditation process has been completed for 18 health facilities, both fully and preliminarily, and the mechanization of services has been completed in 71 centers and units, outpatient clinic departments in three hospitals, internal departments in one hospital, 74 laboratories, and a surgical department. The total number of visits to these facilities since the start of the electronic system operation has reached 350,000.

The Board appreciated a thank-you note from the French Embassy recognizing the high-standard hospitality services in the health facilities in Luxor following the visit of the French ambassador last April. The Board emphasized the importance of enhancing the strategic partnership between Egypt and France in healthcare and medical tourism sectors.

Lastly, the Chairman stressed that the universal health insurance project has significantly improved the working environment for healthcare providers, developed the quality of health services, and bolstered public confidence in government health services. He affirmed that the project is continuously progressing to fulfill the Egyptian people's aspirations for universal health coverage and enhance access to sustainable health development according to Egypt's Vision 2030.

This meeting, held monthly, discusses crucial topics related to proposals for improving operations and policies, as well as setting future plans to ensure the continuous regulation and provision of healthcare services to universal health insurance beneficiaries and all stakeholders with professionalism and international quality standards.
