The Board of Directors agreed to launch an electronic system to monitor periodic examinations of workers to detect occupational diseases and approved the commencement of contracts with specialists in occupational diseases.
The Board also approved fee waivers for certain cases among patients' companions and visitors at the Health Care Authority hospitals, after reviewing the actual impact of the regulation's application across the provinces, as recommended by the Senate's Health and Population Committee. The fee waivers cover cases that require a companion as determined by the treating physician, and for companions of "holders of cards for people with disabilities, Takaful and Karama cardholders, and companions of children under 12 years old."
Furthermore, the Board agreed to a request from the medical professions' syndicates to increase financial allocations for medical training and education from the Authority's own resources in the upcoming fiscal year budget.
Additionally, the Board approved the renewal of the cooperation protocol with King Salman International University in South Sinai, allowing medical students to undergo practical training at the Authority's hospitals according to the Health Care Authority’s rules.
The Board reviewed the quarterly report on the Authority's foreign currency resources from medical tourism, praising the increase in the number of international patients and a 750% increase in revenue compared to the same period last year.
The Board also approved in principle a request from the Sudanese National Council for Medical Specialties to sign an agreement with the Authority to complete the training program for students after the internship phase in Sudan at the Authority's hospitals and specialized centers concerning clinical pharmacy programs.

This decision was made during the 74th periodic meeting of the Board of Directors of the Egypt Health Care Authority, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki, Chairman of the Health Care Authority and the General Supervisor of the universal Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, which was held at the Authority's headquarters in Cairo.
During the meeting, the Board also agreed to increase financial allocations for medical training and education from the Authority's own resources for the next fiscal year's budget. Additionally, the Board renewed the cooperation protocol with King Salman International University in South Sinai to allow medical students to undergo practical training at the Authority's hospitals according to the Health Care Authority’s rules.
In the course of the meeting, the Board was informed about the quarterly report on the Authority's foreign currency income from medical tourism, noting a significant increase in the number of international patients and revenue, which saw a 750% increase compared to the same period last year.

This meeting of the Board of Directors of the Health Care Authority is held monthly to discuss important issues related to proposals for work development and policies, as well as to outline future plans to ensure the continuous regulation and provision of health care services to beneficiaries of the comprehensive insurance system and all stakeholders with global quality and professionalism.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hany Rashed, Vice President of the Board of Directors, as well as members of the Board, including Dr. Ehab Abu Aish, Deputy Minister of Finance and Vice President of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance; Dr. Osama Abdel Hai, General Syndicate of Physicians; Dr. Sami Saad, General Syndicate of Physiotherapy; Dr. Kawther Mahmoud, General Syndicate of Nursing and member of the Senate; Dr. Farid Mehram, a health cost accounting expert and economic advisor to the Health Care Authority; Dr. Ibrahim Fakhr, a civil society member and health care expert; Counselor Mohamed Farouk Moussa, Deputy Head of the State Council; Dr. Fatim Abdel Aziz, a retired professor at the Egyptian Drug Authority and member of the General Syndicate of Pharmacists management committee; and Dr. Wael Abdel Aal, a civil society member and expert in health care management, who participated via Zoom.
Also in attendance from the Health Care Authority were Dr. Amir Telwany, the Executive Director; Dr. Gamal Ratib, advisor to the chairman for actuarial studies and head of the Central Administration for Institutional Support Services; Dr. Ahmed Hamad, advisor to the chairman for policies and health systems; Engineer Mohamed El-Sisi, director of strategic planning and policies, and supervisor for achieving the Authority's vision; Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, general manager of the General Administration for Legal Affairs; Ms. Rasha Shaker, head of the technical secretariat of the board of directors of the General Authority for Health Care; and Mr. Ahmed Meselhy, a member of the technical office of the deputy chairman of the Egypt Health care Authority.
