Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority Meets Pfizer’s Regional Director to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation and Sharing Expertise

Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority: Discussions were held with Pfizer on targeted cancer treatment using the latest technologies, enhancing the optimal use of antimicrobial agents, and developing the role of artificial intelligence in data analysis and pharmaceutical research to improve treatment outcomes.

Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority: Cooperation with Pfizer was discussed for launching an initiative to raise awareness about the importance of vaccinations and immunizations to maintain individual health and prevent diseases, with availability in the Authority’s centers and units in the Comprehensive Health Insurance Governorates.

Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority: We have successfully built an integrated medication management system within the Authority's health facilities through the Drug Evaluation Committee, implementing a comprehensive electronic system that includes registration, coding, and activating electronic prescriptions, providing treatment according to unified clinical protocols.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, met with Dr. Amr Seif, Regional Director of Pfizer in Egypt, Sudan, the Levant, and Iraq, to discuss ways to strengthen joint cooperation and exchange expertise. The meeting took place at the Authority's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky welcomed Dr. Amr Seif at the beginning of the meeting, commending the fruitful and continuous collaboration between Pfizer and the Egypt Healthcare Authority. He confirmed that Pfizer is considered a successful strategic partner in the journey of developing Egypt’s healthcare system. The meeting also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two parties, emphasizing the importance of the pharmaceutical sector as one of the promising fields in the Egyptian market, which is the most organized and attractive for investments, thereby contributing to achieving sustainable development in the healthcare sector.

Dr. El-Sobky highlighted that the cooperation with Pfizer also covered targeted cancer treatment using the latest techniques, continuing to enhance the optimal use of antimicrobial agents, and developing the role of artificial intelligence in data analysis and pharmaceutical research to improve treatment outcomes. Additionally, the cooperation involved launching a comprehensive initiative to raise awareness of the importance of vaccinations and immunizations to maintain individual health and prevent diseases, with their availability in the Egypt Healthcare Authority’s centers and units in the Comprehensive Health Insurance Governorates.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky further stated: "We have successfully built an integrated pharmaceutical and medication management system in the Authority’s health facilities by establishing a committee to evaluate and adapt medications, implementing a comprehensive electronic system that includes registration, coding, and activating electronic prescriptions, and providing treatment according to unified clinical protocols."

He emphasized that the sole standard for using medicines in the Authority’s healthcare facilities is their effectiveness, safety, and security. He pointed out that the Authority adopts a value-based healthcare model to ensure the best health outcomes for the citizens.

Dr. El-Sobky added, “We have a comprehensive database that supports identifying future production plans for pharmaceutical companies based on actual needs and clinical results, focusing on enhancing scientific research to develop treatments and medicines.”

The meeting was attended by members of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, including Dr. Ahmed Hamad, Advisor to the Chairman for Health Policies and Systems and General Manager of the Technical Office of the Chairman, Dr. Sherif Kamal, Advisor to the Chairman for Pharmaceutical Affairs and Drug Management and General Manager of the Pharmaceutical Affairs and Drug Management Department, Dr. Radwa Abdel-Azim, Head of the Cancer File at the Chairman's Technical Office, and Dr. Nashwa Gawda, Member of the Chairman’s Technical Office. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Yomna Quttub, Head of the Government Affairs and Policies Division at Pfizer Egypt and the North Africa, Levant, and Iraq Region.
