Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Health Care Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, met with Dr. Hatem El-Wardani, President of AstraZeneca Egypt, and a delegation from the Chinese consortium of companies specializing in AI-supported healthcare solutions, at the headquarters of the Egypt Health Care Authority in the New Administrative Capital.
During the meeting, avenues of cooperation were discussed with the delegation of Chinese companies specializing in AI-supported healthcare solutions in several fields, most notably digital diagnostics for tumors, genetic testing for tumors, early disease detection, corneal examinations for diabetes patients, supporting the digitization of radiology and laboratory systems, and activating the use of artificial intelligence.
The Chairman of Egypt Health Care Authority indicated that the meeting also addressed cooperation with the Chinese companies' delegation to support the setup and operation of the authority's virtual hospital in Ismailia, in collaboration with AstraZeneca Egypt, as well as supporting the establishment of an Innovation Hub using AI to improve healthcare quality.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky stated: "We aim to strengthen Egyptian-Chinese relations within the BRICS framework to achieve a sustainable healthcare and investment partnership."
