Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, met with the CEO of Samsung Egypt

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, met with the CEO of Samsung Egypt and a team from the company's regional office to discuss enhancing cooperation in line with presidential directives and the state's plan to support the private sector and encourage investment. This meeting took place at the Authority's headquarters in Cairo.

The meeting showcased the health reform efforts in Egypt, the achievements of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, and the capabilities and equipment of its health facilities. Discussions covered various aspects, including joint efforts to enhance cooperation between the Authority and Samsung Egypt in improving health infrastructure and developing medical services offered.

The discussions explored ways to support the Authority's digital transformation strategy and provide suitable technological solutions to enhance healthcare quality and accessibility. The meeting confirmed the importance of continued cooperation in these efforts and outlined future action plans to achieve common goals of improving health services and developing technological infrastructure for healthcare in Egypt.

Dr. El-Sobky expressed the Authority's goal to establish a strategic cooperation with Samsung Egypt in areas such as equipping health facilities and virtual hospitals, and control centers using advanced technology and solutions offered by the company.

He emphasized the importance of increasing Samsung's production lines in Egypt to meet the healthcare sector's needs for mechanization, digital transformation, and governance. He noted that the universal health insurance project provides unprecedented and promising investment opportunities in the healthcare sector and related industries.

Dr. El-Sobky highlighted the benefits of encouraging industries related to the universal health insurance project in Egypt, such as high quality, guaranteed maintenance, and competitive prices. He stated that the market is growing and promises sustainable production, especially with new provinces being added to the universal health insurance system, aiming to reach 600 hospitals and 5,000 health care centers and units by 2030.

He pointed out that the cooperation with Samsung in equipping health facilities would include devices like tablets for displaying electronic medical records and analyzing medical data, and curved screens for comfortably and effectively displaying medical data for medical professionals.

Dr. El-Sobky also mentioned that cooperation includes using digital signage to guide visitors and patients effectively within health facilities, improving operational efficiency, access to health information and medical data, enhancing health services, and improving visitor and patient experience and satisfaction levels.

He affirmed that the cooperation aligns with the state's vision and the Authority's continuous efforts to enhance the entry into the digital age, revolutionize healthcare, encourage investment, and ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the universal health insurance system by providing necessary resources for continuous updating and development to keep up with the best international standards.

The CEO of Samsung Egypt praised the qualitative and digital developments at the Egypt Healthcare Authority and welcomed the cooperation with the Authority. He expressed the company's readiness to support the Authority's strategy towards digital transformation and to develop healthcare services by providing suitable technological solutions that improve the quality of medical services and facilitate access for patients.

The meeting identified several areas that would contribute to increasing Samsung's investments in Egypt to meet the special needs of the healthcare system.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Amir Telwany, Executive Director of the Egypt Healthcare Authority; Dr. Ahmed Hamad, Advisor to the Chief of the Authority for Health Policies and Systems and General Manager of the General Administration of the Technical Office for the Authority's Chief; and other key officials from both the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Samsung Egypt.
