Chairman of the Healthcare Authority Delivers Keynote Speech at Arab Health 2025 in Dubai

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, participated as a keynote speaker in a high-level panel discussion at the Arab Health 2025 Conference and Exhibition, held in Dubai from January 27 to 30, 2025.
The session, titled "Guiding Global Public Health Priorities: Strengthening Emerging Innovations and Strategies for Healthier Communities," brought together leading global experts in public health. It was moderated by Dr. Lamis and featured distinguished speakers, including Professor Bettina Borisch, CEO of the World Federation of Public Health Associations in Geneva, Switzerland; Professor Duncan Selbie, President of the International Association of Public Health in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Dr. Ramadan Al-Blooshi, Senior Advisor to the Director of the Dubai Health Authority.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky expressed his honor in participating in this prestigious international event, describing it as a global platform to discuss key healthcare challenges and present innovative solutions. He emphasized that the Healthcare Authority is committed to positioning Egypt as a leading model in healthcare reform by adopting comprehensive strategies driven by innovation, digital transformation, and international partnerships.
Dr. El-Sobky outlined innovative strategies for building sustainable healthcare systems across the Arab world, highlighting the need to establish resilient health infrastructures in post-conflict recovery phases and emphasizing the importance of universal access to primary healthcare services.
He further stressed that healthcare system preparedness for epidemics and emergencies has become a global obligation in the post-COVID era, underscoring the necessity for robust health policies and rapid response mechanisms.
Dr. El-Sobky also showcased Egypt’s exemplary experience in strengthening public health and implementing universal health coverage, noting that its lessons can be effectively shared with regional counterparts.
During the session, Dr. El-Sobky highlighted Egypt’s healthcare reform journey as a model that can be emulated globally. He announced plans to further enhance the system by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and expanding non-traditional service delivery channels to ensure more efficient and widespread healthcare accessibility.
"Egypt’s healthcare reform model is a benchmark for the region and beyond," said Dr. El-Sobky. "In the coming years, we aim to integrate AI-driven solutions and leverage digital innovation to improve healthcare accessibility for all citizens."
