The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority participated in the celebration organized by the General Authority for Health Insurance, marking 60 years since its establishment in Egypt.
The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the health insurance system over the past sixty years, including employees and leaders of the General Authority for Health Insurance and partners from both the public and private sectors. He emphasized that these national experiences have always been the fundamental pillar in achieving the implementation of the new universal health insurance system.
The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority noted that Egypt was the first country in the region to apply health insurance systems and affirmed that the modern Egyptian health system under the presidency of Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has achieved continuous improvements in resource management, increased investment in health and information infrastructure, medical staff training, and quality of healthcare, placing it among the world’s leading health systems.
The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority stated that the universal health insurance project represents a qualitative step towards evolving health insurance services to include achieving universal health coverage and health equity for all citizens, improving the quality of medical services, and introducing technological innovations in accordance with health standards and developments for the next 50 years.
The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority mentioned that the General Authority for Health Insurance operates impartially to pave the way for a new, more advanced, and inclusive universal health insurance system that achieves health and social justice.
The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority looks forward to achieving universal health coverage, improving the quality of healthcare services, and expanding coverage to include all citizens. He always strives for development and innovation to improve healthcare and treatment and to apply modern technologies in providing healthcare. He emphasized enhancing cooperation with local and international partners to achieve the best results and ensure the sustainability of the health system in keeping up with future developments effectively and flexibly.
The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation between all relevant parties to ensure the continued success and development of the health system in Egypt and expressed confidence that this cooperation would be the foundation upon which an efficient and sustainable health system is built, achieving health prosperity for all citizens.
