The Egypt Healthcare Authority welcomed the British Ambassador to Cairo during his visit to its facilities in Aswan Governorate.

The British Ambassador to Cairo praised the quality of medical service provided to citizens at the Mansoura Family Medicine Unit in Aswan, stating: "We are proud of our cooperation with the Egyptian government and support the state's efforts to improve the level of medical services provided to citizens."

The Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority appreciated the British Ambassador's commendation, affirming the strong trust and joint cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom.

The Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority stated: "Egypt and Britain adopt a unified methodology for primary healthcare. The family health model is the main gateway for universal health insurance coverage, and the first delegation of family doctors at the Egypt Healthcare Authority was trained in England with the launch of the universal health coverage system."

The Egypt Healthcare Authority, led by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Supervisor General on the projects of universal health insurance and Haya Kareema at the Ministry of Health and Population, received Mr. Gareth Bailey, the British Ambassador to Cairo, during his visit to several facilities of the Authority in Aswan Governorate.

During the visit, the statement from the Authority explained that the different departments of the unit were inspected, the patient journey within the facility was reviewed, and the nature of the services provided by the unit, which represent 80% of the medical services needed by citizens, was examined. Also discussed were the standards for referring cases requiring a higher level of healthcare to hospitals, whether those offering secondary or tertiary services.

Ambassador Bailey met with the medical and administrative staff of the unit and sought the opinions of citizens on the quality of medical service provided to them, which they highly praised.

Ambassador Bailey lauded the quality of services provided by the Mansoura Family Medicine Unit, emphasizing the importance of these services in improving the health of citizens. He remarked, "Despite the unit being in a simple village, it provides exceptional medical services to the highest international quality standards, all of which are the result of the efforts of the Egypt Healthcare Authority under the umbrella of universal health insurance."

Furthermore, Ambassador Bailey praised the cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom in the health sector, confirming his country's eagerness to support the Egyptian state's efforts to enhance the quality of health services provided to citizens.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Supervisor General on the projects of universal health insurance and Haya Kareema at the Ministry of Health and Population, valued the British Ambassador's commendation at Cairo, stating: "This commendation reflects the quality of medical service within the facilities of the Egypt Healthcare Authority," confirming the strong trust, fruitful, and joint cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom.

He highlighted that Egypt and Britain share a common approach to primary healthcare, with the family health model being the principal entry point for universal health insurance coverage. He noted that the first group of family doctors at the Egypt Healthcare Authority was trained in England at the start of the universal health coverage system in Egypt.
