Burns are damage to body tissue due to hot liquids, chemicals, electric current, steam, and other reasons. Most skin burns are simple and common and can be treated at home. Cover open bubbles with a dry and sterile bandage.
Avoid (X):
Remove burnt clothing attached to the injured skin.
Put snow directly on the burned area.
Put any ointments or use butter, toothpaste, or other materials on burning.
Open bubbles resulting from burning.
Put cotton on the affected area which may exacerbate the problem.
Procedures for treating third-degree burns(High-risk) burns
It is one of the most serious types of burns where all layers of the skin are included, and muscles may be affected.
Contact the ambulance immediately and take the following measures until medical assistance arrives:
Make sure the vital signs of the injured person.
Remove the injured person from flammable materials, smoke, or heat sources.
Avoid (X):
Remove burnt clothes stuck on the skin.
Placing large burnt areas inside cold water to avoid trauma (sudden reduction in body temperature).
Cover the burn with an adhesive bandage.
Placing any ointments or home treatments on the affected areas
Put cotton on the affected area.
When to go to the doctor:
Loss of pain in the affected area.
Burning arrival of the airway, face, hands, or genitals
If the injured person is under 5 years of age or over 70 years of age.
The size of the burn (7 cm) or more, or the burn was deep.
The presence of signs of skin infection, such as the presence of redness, pain, pus, or a high temperature of more than 38 ° C.
