Pregnancy Diabetes

During pregnancy, there may be a change in blood sugar level whether it lasts beyond birth or does not persist. Pregnancy sugar often disappears immediately after birth.
If a woman is found to have gestational diabetes, the woman may need doses of insulin or only modify her diet.

 

Risk factors:

It is more likely to occur in the following cases:
1-Having a family history of illness.
2-Overweight.
3-Old Age

 

Complications:

-foetal abnormalities.
-An increase in the weight of the newborn.
-Increase the mother's likelihood of preeclampsia.

 

Treatment:

-Modify the diet.
-Maintain appropriate physical activity.
-The doctor may prescribe doses of insulin.

 

Tips

Avoid using diabetes medications and any other over-the-counter drugs.
Ensure regular and timely visits to the pregnant women's clinic and the diabetes clinic.
Dieting under medical guidance.
