Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, General Supervisor of the Universal health Insurance Project, Dr. Armin Ernst, Executive Chairman and Chairman of the United States Group of Stewart Heath Care International, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Amine, Executive Chairman and Delegate of the Saudi Treatment Group, and their accompanying delegation, who visited the health-care facilities of the Port Said and Ismailia governorates on 15 May.
During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority, stressed the importance of working to exchange experiences and joint cooperation with the United States and Saudi Arabian health-care groups in the light of the strengthening of strategic partnerships between Egypt, the Arab States and the world, the current development in all sectors, most notably the health-care sector, and its positive reflections on the achievement of the goals of sustainable health development in accordance with Egypt Healthcare Authority Vision 2030, and the promotion of economic growth in Egypt.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky referred to a number of proposed new areas of cooperation to deepen cooperation in the health-care sector, which could be studied extensively in the coming period. He explained the intention of the health-care authority to apply "value-based healthcare" models in the light of its vision of providing an advanced health-care model with global standards under the umbrella of the Universal health insurance system. The prospects for cooperation in this area could be opened as a strategic objective of the welfare agency and the achievement of the goals of the system.
He reviewed a number of modern mechanisms for monitoring the operation of the health facilities of the Authority in the governorates of the Universal health Insurance and for ensuring that the best health care and services were provided to patients through the optimum use of technology.
