The head of Egypt Healthcare Authority is exploring cooperation with the executive head of the United States Steward Group and the executive head of the Saudi Treatment Group for the application of value-based health care models at the health facilities of the Authority in the governorates of the Universal health Insurance System.

What I saw during my visit to Health Care Agency hospitals was amazing. It confirms the opening of new areas of cooperation with the Welfare Authority and the study of the group Egypt Healthcare Authority expansion of investment in Egypt in the coming period.

The CEO of the United States Stiward Group and the CEO of the Saudi Treatment Group are very impressed by the use by the Welfare Authority of technological capabilities to monitor the functioning of health facilities in order to ensure that the best service and health care are provided to all clients of the highest quality.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, General Supervisor of the Universal health Insurance Project, Dr. Armin Ernst, Executive Chairman and Chairman of the United States Group of Stewart Heath Care International, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Amine, Executive Chairman and Delegate of the Saudi Treatment Group, and their accompanying delegation, who visited the health-care facilities of the Port Said and Ismailia governorates on 15 May.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority, stressed the importance of working to exchange experiences and joint cooperation with the United States and Saudi Arabian health-care groups in the light of the strengthening of strategic partnerships between Egypt, the Arab States and the world, the current development in all sectors, most notably the health-care sector, and its positive reflections on the achievement of the goals of sustainable health development in accordance with Egypt Healthcare Authority Vision 2030, and the promotion of economic growth in Egypt. 

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky referred to a number of proposed new areas of cooperation to deepen cooperation in the health-care sector, which could be studied extensively in the coming period. He explained the intention of the health-care authority to apply "value-based healthcare" models in the light of its vision of providing an advanced health-care model with global standards under the umbrella of the Universal health insurance system. The prospects for cooperation in this area could be opened as a strategic objective of the welfare agency and the achievement of the goals of the system.

He reviewed a number of modern mechanisms for monitoring the operation of the health facilities of the Authority in the governorates of the Universal health Insurance and for ensuring that the best health care and services were provided to patients through the optimum use of technology. Armin Ernest and dr. Mohamed Al-Amine, who are very impressed with these modern techniques, which is reflected in ensuring the functioning and provision of services and health care to health-care personnel working with health-care hospitals of the highest quality.

The shift from a "business model" treatment system to a "value-based healthcare" leadership system based on institutional excellence, strategic planning and risk management was a success factor in reducing personal spending from a citizen's pocket on health, improving citizens' health, raising the quality of health care and ensuring sustainability as strategic objectives of the universal health insurance system.

He continued: Egypt Healthcare Authority pioneering experience in health reform and universal health coverage through the Universal health insurance system enjoyed considerable international support, paving the way for accelerating more constructive cooperation and creating opportunities for benefit to all parties. He also called for a study of investment in Egypt Healthcare Authority health-care sector after the Universal health insurance system had provided endless investment opportunities for its health investment.

During the meeting, he thanked Dr. Armin Ernest, Executive Chairman and Chairman of the United States Stiward Group, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Amine, Executive Chairman and Member of the Saudi Treatment Group, for their interest in convening a dialogue and exchange of views to encourage the exchange of experiences and cooperation in joint projects and the promotion of outstanding investment opportunities.

For his part, Dr. Armin Ernst, expressing his pleasure at this meeting and his visit to the facilities of Egypt Healthcare Authority in the governorates of Port Said, Ismailia, saying that "the progress and development I have seen in the hospitals of the Care Authority and the development of the health-care sector in Egypt was amazing," noted the willingness of the American Stiward Group to open new areas of cooperation with Egypt Healthcare Authority in the coming period and to study the expansion of the group's investment in Egypt with the seriousness and clear vision of the Egyptian State in health reform, re-governance of the health system and notable progress in the Universal health insurance system.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Amine emphasized that Egypt had succeeded in making a qualitative breakthrough in the health-care sector in order to enhance its standing, leadership and competition at the Arab and international levels. Dr. Mohammed Al-Amine also expressed his pleasure at cooperating with the Health-care Authority, which had made a number of achievements that had had a significant impact on the rapid development of health care in Egypt.
