The CEO and Chairman of the Elekta Business Council value the efforts of Egypt Healthcare Authority to cooperate in the transfer of the latest methods of tumor diagnosis and treatment. It pays tribute to the administrative thinking of the Board and its quest for excellence and medical uniqueness. 

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the Public Health Care Authority, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Authority and the Swedish leading company ELEKTA in the field of radiation.

This was the case during the participation of Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky in the events of the Arab Health Fair and Conference "Arab Health 2023," held from 30 January to 2 February 2023, at the Dubai World Trade Center, United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky pointed out that the Convention was one of the results of his visit to Sweden in October last year, stressing that the Authority was keen to transfer the best expertise in the areas of advanced medical care and health-care technology to its hospitals, to ensure that medical and therapeutic services provided to patients were distinct and that their quality continued to improve and conform to global standards.

He explained that the Convention was aimed at exchanging experiences with Elekta regarding modern technology, the latest methods of diagnosis and treatment of oncology patients, early detection of cancers, as well as training of medical staff at Health Care Authority hospitals in state-of-the-art technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of oncology with Gama Naif, the accurate eradication of tumors and the latest advanced techniques.

The Convention included cooperation for the establishment of an Elekta Academic ELEKTA Academy as an advanced training center for doctors on tumor diagnosis and treatment, referring to the establishment of the first branch of the Academy at the Authority specialized Al-Nasr hospital in Port said governorate, as the regional center of excellence for the diagnosis and treatment of oncology in the governorates of the Canal region.

The Board stressed the importance of transferring successful international expertise and experience to its hospitals, thereby contributing to its vision of providing an advanced model of health care that conforms to global standards, and noted the importance of transferring knowledge, experience and technology from the Swedish health-care system to Egypt to its advanced global level.

The Authority was keen to expand relations and cooperation to promote an investment climate in health care in Egypt. Egypt was at the center of successful partnerships. It had great opportunities to invest in the health-care sector, given the promising investment opportunities offered by the comprehensive health insurance system, which strengthened the State efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable health development in accordance with Egypt vision 2030.

For his part, Mr. Habib Neama, CEO of Elekta in the Abak region, "Asia and the Pacific and Japan," Turkey, India, the Middle East and Africa, Chairman of the company's Commercial Board, valued the efforts of Egypt Healthcare Authority and its hospitals to transmit the latest diagnostic methods and treatments for oncology patients, and to provide the most up-to-date treatments, which would provide much in economic and social terms compared to traditional methods, paying tribute to the outstanding management thinking of Egypt Healthcare Authority and its constant pursuit of medical excellence and uniqueness.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Mr. Kan Suwelu, Vice-President of Indirect Elekta Markets (TMA) in Turkey, the Middle East and Africa, Mr. Wael Al-Asregy, Executive Director of the Middle East Region, Mr. Sami Soliman, Sales Director of Elekta Egypt, and Mr. Shawky Fahim, Service Sales Director of the company.

It should be noted that Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky participated in the activities of Arab Health 2023, where the event is hosted by the heads of health agencies in the Arab region, the Middle East and Africa, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Commission, including Dr. Amir El-Telwany, Executive Director of the Authority, as well as a number of senior leaders of the Authority.

Arab Health 2023, under the theme "Innovation and sustainability in health care," is held with the participation of more than 3,000 casual companies and more than 51,000 health-care specialists from all countries of the Arab region, the Middle East, African and Asian States and the United States of America, as well as the initial participation of New Zealand, Singapore, Tunisia and Indonesia.
