The General Authority for Healthcare (EHA), under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, has launched the 4th Annual Ramadan Sports Tournament for employees—this year with first-time participation from all UHI governorates in the main competitions.
The tournament unites staff from the headquarters and regional branches in Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Aswan, and Suez, fostering teamwork and cross-governorate integration through sports and shared experiences. This step reflects the Authority’s continued commitment to building a vibrant, collaborative, and values-driven institutional culture.
Dr. El-Sobky emphasized that the tournament is part of the Authority’s broader strategy to invest in its human capital, recognizing that sports and teamwork are essential elements of a healthy and productive workplace. He noted that expanding participation this year further strengthens institutional cohesion and helps create a competitive yet healthy environment that inspires innovation and excellence.
This year’s Ramadan tournament features a variety of sports and cultural activities, including football, table tennis, padel, and a Quran memorization and recitation competition for the children of EHA employees. This competition aims to nurture religious values and highlight distinguished talents within the EHA family.
Dr. El-Sobky noted that this initiative is more than a sporting event—it’s a pillar of the Authority’s strategy to enhance employee wellness, promote mental and physical health, and support a balanced work-life culture. He affirmed that EHA’s approach to human resources development includes not only professional training but also recreational and cultural initiatives that boost morale and satisfaction.
He also praised the Employee Support and Satisfaction Department for leading these initiatives, noting its essential role in strengthening loyalty, supporting staff wellbeing, and promoting a positive and empowering work environment.
Dr. El-Sobky concluded by reaffirming that the Authority will continue to launch initiatives that strengthen team spirit, enhance internal communication, and create an environment conducive to creativity and excellence. These efforts, he added, directly contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens under the Universal Health Insurance System.
