The Universal Health Insurance Coordination is discussing the provinces of the second phase of the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance System according to the actuarial study to select the most efficient system-wide scenario 

Head of the Universal Health Insurance Coordinating Office and head of Egypt Healthcare Authority: complete the mechanization of services in 158 health installations in the governorates of Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia and South Sinai. 37 family medical centers and units in Aswan and Suez on an experimental basis

The head of the Universal Health Insurance Coordination and head of Egypt Healthcare Authority is guided by the consolidation of a "common vision" strategy among the three agencies of the mechanization system and the digital transformation of services. And its conformity with the relevant regulations and successful experiences in the Arab countries and the world.

The head of the Universal Health Insurance Coordination and head of Egypt Healthcare Authority stresses the importance of implementing the DRG system of hospitalization costs to ensure high-quality health care for users, optimize the operation of hospitals and promote sustainability.

The head of the Universal Health Insurance Coordination and head of Egypt Healthcare Authority is directed to set up a committee between health care, Universal Health insurance and medicine agencies to develop a road map for the preparation of medicines and a sustainable price modernization mechanism. It stresses the importance of facilitating the issuance of advance approvals for services and medicines to achieve the highest rates of user satisfaction

The Universal Health Insurance Coordination agrees to cooperate with WHO to support the workshop on the use of labels and codes for newly added medical interventions to the Universal Health insurance list.

Universal Health insurance coordination: 26 user outlets at family medical centers, units and hospitals in the shortest possible time to facilitate registration and contributions to the system for beneficiaries

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee for Universal Health Insurance, announced the completion of mechanization work in 158 hospitals, the Centre and the Family Medicine Unit of the Authority in the governorates of the Universal Health Insurance, including out-patient clinics and all the services provided, as well as the completion of the mechanization of 37 family medicine centers and units in the provinces newly joined by the Aswan and Suez system on a pilot basis. 

This was done during the regular meeting of the Coordinating Committee of the Universal Health Insurance System, No. 20, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, and with the membership of the executive directors of the three bodies, in order to accelerate the pace of the system  implementation and its extension to all governorates, in accordance with the directives of the political leadership for less than seven years to come, thus contributing to the realization of the dream of all Egyptians to provide Universal  and integrated health care to all members of the Egyptian family in the new Republic.

The meeting discussed the provinces of the second phase of the Universal Health Insurance System, in accordance with the actuarial study on the selection of the most efficient system-wide scenario in the rest of the Republic, as part of the follow-up to the project operational position. Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky emphasized the implementation of Universal Health insurance in the governorates in accordance with the system  strategy for action, the most important of which was health planning to ensure the provision of health services and care in accordance with the needs and nature of the diseases in each governorate. He also encouraged the participation of the private sector in the integration of health services for the users of the system.

The meeting reviewed an update on the mechanization situation in the Universal Health insurance system with regard to electronic filing of claims, integration of electronic applications and systems, the synchronization of medicines and the Automated Contact Centre for the Cole Center system, where full electronic filing of claims would be completed by the end of February in the Port Said, Short and Ismaili governorates. Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky directed the consolidation of a "joint vision" strategy among the three bodies of the mechanization system and the digital transformation of services in an integrated manner, beginning with technological solutions through companies supporting the mechanisms for the mechanization of the Universal Health insurance system, program and others in accordance with successful systems and experiences in the Arab States and the world in this area, ensuring that the confidentiality and security of information in the system were maintained.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky stressed the importance of implementing the system of hospitalization costs (DRG) to ensure optimal control of health-care costs, the proper operation of health facilities, and the provision of high-quality care for patients and the promotion of sustainability. With regard to the synchronicity of medicines, a committee was set up between the health-care and universal health insurance agencies and the Egyptian Medicine Authority. Representatives of these bodies were drawn up by the Committee to develop a road map for the receipt of medicines and a sustainable mechanism for price modernization.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen the services of the Cole Center automated communication center so as to ensure that all posts are covered, starting with the screening of family medical centers and units, the response to inquiries, the resolution of complaints and the absorption of all numbers of users of the services of the system, especially as they are extended to the various governorates of the Republic. It also reviewed the latest situation regarding the provision of access to the services of beneficiaries at health-care facilities. Twenty-six of the offices in the Luxor governorate were activated, which reflected positively on the level of satisfaction of the beneficiaries of the Universal Health insurance.

The meeting addressed the procedure for Arabic, English and English names and codes for medical interventions added to the list of Universal Health insurance services. The Coordinating Committee unanimously agreed to cooperate with the World Health Organization (WHO) to support the workshop on updating labels and codes.

The meeting of the Coordinating Committee, Executive Directors of the three bodies of the Universal Health Insurance System, Dr. Mai Farid, Acting Executive Director of the General Authority for Universal Health Insurance and Associate Minister of Finance for Economic Justice, Dr. Husam Abu sati, Executive Director of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control, and Dr. Amir El-Telwany, Executive Director of the Public Authority for Health Care.

Egypt Healthcare Authority, Dr. Magdy Bakr, Adviser to the Chairman of the Technical Affairs Authority, Dr. Gamal Ratba, Adviser to the Chairman of the Financial Affairs Authority and Director-General of the General Administration of Financial Affairs, Dr. Sharif Kamal, Adviser to the Chairman of the Authority for Pharmaceutical and Drug Management and Director-General of the General Administration for Pharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Hamad, Director-General of the General Directorate of the Technical Office of the Chairman of the Authority, Major General Hesham Shendy, Director-General of the General Directorate of Information Systems and Digital Transformation, Dr. Ahmed Dongol, Director-General of the General Administration for User Satisfaction, Dr. Heba Abdel Aziz, Member of the Technical Office of the Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Aya Soliman, Member of the Technical Office of the Chairman of the Authority, and Dr. Reham Salama, Member of the Technical Office of the Executive Director of the Authority, participated.

The Public Authority for Universal Health Insurance also participated. Amr Zaky, Head of the Central Department of Finance of the Authority, and Engineer Mahmoud Sabry, Head of the Central Department of Information Systems and Digital Transformation, A. Sherif El-Sherif, Head of the Central Administration for User Affairs.

It should be noted that the Coordinating Committee of the three bodies of the Universal Health Insurance System was established by a decision of the Prime Minister State, with the aim of maximizing cooperation between the three Universal health insurance bodies and accelerating the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance System in the governorates.
