Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care, received Mr. Wind Li Junfeng, First Vice President of Huawei International and CEO of the Global Public Business Sector, and his accompanying delegation as part of following up on the results of the memorandum of understanding between the two sides signed in China last April.
During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki stressed that the most prominent aspects of the partnership with Huawei are supporting and strengthening the technological infrastructure to enhance virtual services, stressing that the Virtual Hospital of the Care Authority is the first in Africa and the largest in the Middle East in terms of integration and provision of telemedicine services in comprehensive health insurance. governorates
Al-Sobki added that the meeting discussed cooperation with Huawei in establishing a national center for health data sciences and artificial intelligence applications, to be a national house of expertise for developing innovative technological solutions. He pointed out that the Authority currently possesses more than 6 million electronic medical records and half a billion archived digital X-ray images supported by artificial intelligence, which reflects the development of the digital transformation system within the Authority. Mechanisms for complete digital transformation, institutional connectivity, and automation that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making based on accurate data and analysis were also reviewed.
