The Egypt Healthcare Authority launches two-panel discussions on "Building Global Trust in Healthcare: Enhancing Excellence through Quality and Innovation" and "Partnership for Sustainability: Building Strategic Healthcare Partnerships for a Resilient Future."


As part of the Fifth Annual Forum of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, held under the theme “Towards Global Excellence in Healthcare Services” in the New Administrative Capital, two panel discussions were launched, featuring a distinguished group of local and international healthcare leaders and experts. The discussions focused on enhancing global trust and the sustainability of healthcare services through innovation and strategic partnerships.

According to the Authority's statement, the first session, titled "Building Global Trust in Healthcare: Enhancing Excellence through Quality and Innovation," discussed how to achieve excellence in delivering healthcare services globally, with a particular focus on innovation and adopting quality standards as a fundamental approach.

The session featured Dr. Amir El-Telwany, Executive Director of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, who shared the Authority's experience in supporting innovation as a cornerstone of excellence. Dr. Ronald Lavater, CEO of the International Federation of Hospitals, discussed the role of international organizations in enhancing quality standards across borders. Dr. Naima Al-Abed, WHO Representative in Egypt, emphasized the importance of integration between local and international efforts to improve health systems. Dr. Tawfiq Khoja, a public health and healthcare expert, reviewed successful regional models of excellence. Mr. Jonathan Edelheit, CEO of the Medical Tourism Association, focused on the role of medical tourism in boosting patient trust globally. Dr. Murad Soner Kucukkay, Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa at JCI, highlighted the importance of global standards in improving health performance. The session was moderated by Dr. Alaa El-Demerdash, Member of the Technical Office of the Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, and included key discussions on enhancing patient trust globally and the role of innovation in advancing healthcare systems.

The statement also mentioned that the second session, titled "Partnership for Sustainability: Building Strategic Healthcare Partnerships for a Resilient Future," discussed the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders to achieve sustainable health systems that are flexible and adaptable.

The session included Dr. Ahmed Hamad, Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority for Policies and Health Systems and General Director of the Technical Office, who discussed national policies for strengthening healthcare partnerships. Dr. Ahmed Eshteh, Director of International Relations at AstraZeneca, spoke about the importance of international cooperation to support health sustainability. Dr. Amr Seif, General Manager at Pfizer, discussed therapeutic innovations and their role in sustaining health systems. Dr. Amr Amin, Director of Public Affairs at Novartis, focused on the need to enhance the role of the private sector in developing healthcare services. Dr. Ahmed Sarour, CEO of New Master, discussed the role of technology in improving healthcare efficiency. The session was moderated by Dr. Mustafa Ghorab, Business Development Director at the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority. The discussions revolved around developing strategic partnerships and creating sustainable solutions to support resilience in the healthcare sector.

The sessions concluded with a series of key recommendations to enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of health systems, including strengthening innovation and quality, developing strategic partnerships, fostering public-private collaboration to support local and international health sustainability, investing in human resources, and promoting the concept of health tourism. These recommendations aim to further enhance Egypt’s position as a leading destination for healthcare services regionally and globally.
