The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority launches the first annual conference for excellence in heart diseases, coinciding with World Heart Day.

Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority: The authority's hospitals conducted over 267,000 medical interventions, including open heart surgeries, cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker installations, and non-surgical valve replacements for both adults and children across six provinces, achieving a success rate exceeding 97% while implementing the best global medical practices.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance project, today launched the first annual conference of the Egypt Healthcare Authority for excellence in heart diseases, themed "Heart Excellence: Where Excellence Meets Cardiology," taking place over September 25-26 in Cairo.

This event is sponsored by Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, and attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Latif, Executive President of the Egyptian Health Council, Dr. Tarek El-Hobbi, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, Dr. Hussein Khaled, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Hossam Hosni, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Health Council, Brigadier General Dr. Tareq El-Najdi, President of the Military Medical Academy, representatives of health professional unions, members of the respected Houses of Representatives and Senate, members of the board of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, Dr. Amir El-Tolwani, the Executive Director of the Authority, its leaders, Dr. Jihan El-Murr, General Manager of Novartis Egypt, and Dr. Hazem Khamees, Conference President and General Supervisor of the Cardiology and Vascular Departments at its hospitals, along with success partners, and a host of prominent global heart disease experts.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, in his speech at the conference, stated that the authority's hospitals have conducted over 267,000 medical interventions, including open heart surgeries, cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker installations, and non-surgical valve replacements for adults and children across six provinces, with a success rate exceeding 97%, applying the best global medical practices.

Dr. El-Sobky added that the dream of Egyptians to access high-quality health services is being realized thanks to the support of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, emphasizing that the health of the Egyptian citizen is a top priority in the state's agenda, with the launch of the universal health insurance and universal health coverage systems.

Dr. El-Sobky also announced a strategic partnership with the National Food Safety Authority, aimed at launching health education programs to prevent heart disease and its complications related to poor nutrition, maintaining the health of the Egyptian citizen.

Additionally, Dr. El-Sobky announced a new strategic partnership with the Egyptian Health Council and the Egyptian Board for Continuing Medical Education and Training for health personnel, accrediting 32 cardiac departments in the authority's hospitals, affirming that they compare with the major medical educational institutions at the regional and global levels.

Dr. El-Sobky highlighted that the Egypt Healthcare Authority's strategy is based on five main pillars of excellence: "health awareness," "early diagnosis," "training for medical personnel," "providing the latest treatments," and "excellence in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for heart patients."

The conference also featured a documentary video showcasing the authority's achievements in the field of heart diseases, along with numerous discussion sessions and interactive and scientific presentations for doctors, clinical pharmacists, and nursing staff, discussing the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases.
