Egypt Healthcare Authority Facilities in Aswan Welcome Delegation from the World Health Organization and the European Union

WHO and EU Delegation Commends the Organization and Quality of Services at Al-Masalla Specialized Hospital in Aswan


Al-Masalla Specialized Hospital, affiliated with the Egypt Healthcare Authority in Aswan Governorate, welcomed a joint delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Union.

The visit began with a meeting during which the delegation received a comprehensive overview of the services provided by Al-Masalla Specialized Hospital, as part of the universal health insurance system, and its role in achieving comprehensive health coverage for system beneficiaries in the governorate.

The achievements of the Egypt Healthcare Authority in managing and operating healthcare facilities under the umbrella of universal health insurance were also highlighted, including the introduction of numerous medical services and treatment packages to provide all healthcare services at the highest international quality standards, according to global practices. The role of the Authority’s hospitals in providing comprehensive medical services to foreign visitors was also emphasized.

The tour included a visit to the various hospital departments to observe the services provided. The delegation visited the dialysis and intensive care units, as well as the hotel departments. The delegation members expressed their admiration for the organization and efficiency of Al-Masalla Specialized Hospital, praised the quality of medical services, cleanliness, and attention to patients, and commended the efforts made to ensure the provision of services in line with the highest international standards. They expressed their hope for continued cooperation between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and international organizations to support the healthcare sector and enhance the delivery of exceptional medical services, noting that what they witnessed during their visit reflects the Authority's commitment to providing the best level of medical care to patients.

The visiting delegation included representatives from the WHO Egypt office, including Dr. Karim Abou Zeid, Dr. Sarah Ghanem, Engineer Ahmed Mehdi, Dr. Mohamed Yasser, and Dr. Omar Aboul Atta, along with a UNICEF delegation including Dr. Ayman Ghaly and Mr. Emmanuel, as well as Mr. Willem Fransen, representing the European Union.

The delegation was received by Dr. Ahmed El-Azab, General Manager of the Research and Development Department at the Authority’s headquarters, and Dr. Ashraf Hamad, Director of the Egypt Healthcare Authority branch in Aswan.
