Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Authority for Health Care, received a high-level Russian delegation from major Russian companies, which included Mr. Alexei Yakunin, Trade Representative of Russia in Egypt; Ms. Anastasia Moraviva, Deputy Trade Representative; Mr. Murad Aslanov, CEO of the Russian company "ROSATOM" in Egypt; Mr. Essam Hassan, Director of Business Development at the company; Mr. Alexei Vladimirovich Altinbayev, co-founder of Polymed; and Mr. Zaur, CEO of the company. This will be at the Authority's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky welcomed the Russian delegation, stressing the depth of relations between Egypt and Russia in various fields and praising the history of cooperation extending since the 1960s. He explained that the meeting reflects the implementation of the political leadership's directives to open new horizons for cooperation with Russia in the health sector and is based on the strong relationship between the political leadership of the two countries, noting that the current time represents a golden opportunity to attract Russian investments to Egypt, the gateway to Africa and the Middle East.
The Chairman of the Healthcare Authority pointed out that he is discussing cooperation with the CEO of ROSATOM to establish an integrated international center for diagnosing and treating tumors with nuclear medicine and radiotherapy within the second phase of comprehensive health insurance, noting that the project will be the nucleus for future expansion in this field and represents a promising investment in advanced health services. He also explained that the project aims to direct health survey programs for Arab and African countries according to their needs, in addition to producing radioactive medical isotopes using advanced technology.
Dr. Al-Sabki also discussed cooperation with the Russian company "POLYMED" to enhance the provision of mobile healthcare services supported by artificial intelligence, stressing that these services will focus on "periodic screening," "home care," and "door-knocking campaigns" in order to achieve access to advanced healthcare for every citizen.
The Chairman of the Authority stressed that transferring technology and localizing advanced Russian expertise in the field of nuclear medicine and radiotherapy and integrating it into the Authority's protocols after reviewing the Medical Advisory Council represents one of the most important priorities for cooperation, in addition to twinning with major health institutions, training and qualifying human cadres, and applying international best practices to build an integrated and sustainable health system.
For his part, Mr. Alexei Yakunin, Russia's Trade Representative in Egypt, thanked the Healthcare Authority for the warm reception and fruitful cooperation, inviting Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky and the Authority's leaders to attend the "Nuclear Day" activities in Russia and learn about the latest technological applications in medicine and life sciences.
