(ECDC) visited to the Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital

On the sidelines of the European Union conference "Climate Change and Infectious Diseases: From Predictions to Preparedness" held in Sharm El-Sheikh, the Egypt Health Care Authority announced a visit by a high-level delegation from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) to the Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital, which is part of the Authority in South Sinai.

The Egypt Health Care Authority participated in the European Climate Change Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh to showcase its efforts in the green transformation of healthcare and Egypt's success in enhancing green transformation and sustainability.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki, chief of the Egypt Health Care Authority, stated that Egypt's efforts in sustainability and transition played a crucial role in the decision to host the conference outside Europe for the first time, emphasizing that climate is no longer a luxury but a core element in building a better future for Egyptians.

Dr. El-Sabki highlighted that the Universal Health Insurance system is a national presidential project committed to integrating principles of economic, social, and environmental sustainability into all aspects of universal health insurance, with Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital serving as a model in healthcare reform and the implementation of universal health coverage in Egypt.

Dr. El-Sabki expressed pride in Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital and El-Ramad Specialty Hospital in Port Said, both managed by the Health Care Authority, for receiving international recognition from the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network (GGHH) and registering the Authority as the first Egyptian member in the global network. The Health Care Authority also received the Diamond Award in Health Sustainability Leadership in the Arab region, jointly with the Abu Dhabi Health Department from the Arab Hospitals Federation.

Dr. El-Sabki noted that the visit by the delegation from European partners to Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital enhances the exchange of expertise and the dissemination of Egypt's successful efforts in healthcare and green transformation on an international level, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in enhancing healthcare globally.

Dr. El-Sabki takes pride in Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital for garnering several Arab and international awards, including the Gold Award jointly with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the Green Hospitals category from the Arab Hospitals Union, and the international accreditation for healthcare quality (JCI). He invites everyone to visit the hospital to witness the practices of transformation and execution capabilities, affirming the continued efforts of the Authority in promoting sustainability and building a more resilient future.

The ECDC delegation commended Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital for its green transformation in healthcare and the electric car charging station as one of the modern energy-saving technologies, stating: "Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital is an exemplary model of a green hospital that can be emulated internationally."

The ECDC delegation praised the Egypt Health Care Authority's efforts in enhancing sustainability and green transformation in healthcare and expressed eagerness for further collaboration with Egypt to enhance our joint efforts.

The Egypt Health Care Authority announced its participation in the European Union conference on health security, which took place under the theme "Climate Change and Infectious Diseases: From Predictions to Preparedness," in Sharm El-Sheikh, South Sinai, this May.

During his recorded speech at the conference, Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki welcomed all attendees to this important international conference on climate change and infectious diseases. He expressed honor in gathering in Egypt's first green city, in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister of Health and Population, along with numerous experts and specialists in the fields of climate change and infectious diseases, to exchange expertise and discuss challenges and innovative solutions.

Dr. El-Sabki emphasized the conference's focus on the critical health issue of climate change, affecting all aspects of healthcare systems and service delivery. He highlighted the region's role in sustainability and transition, which was crucial in the decision to allow the conference to take place outside Europe for the first time, including a field visit to the Health Care Hospital, Sharm International, a model in Egyptian healthcare reform and the implementation of universal health coverage as a national presidential project.

Dr. El-Sabki expressed pride in the Egypt Health Care Authority's Diamond Award in Health Sustainability Leadership at the Arab level, jointly with the Abu Dhabi Health Department, and the success of Sharm International Hospital in achieving the Gold Award in the Green Hospitals category from the Arab Hospitals Union, as well as its success in obtaining international accreditation for healthcare quality (JCI). He invited everyone to visit Sharm International Hospital to witness the transformative practices and execution capabilities, reaffirming the Authority's commitment to ongoing progress and continuous improvement in providing high-quality medical services with a spirit of innovation and responsibility.
