Healthcare Authority Explores Strategic Partnerships with MHC and Millensys for AI and Digital Health Innovations
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, convened with senior executives from MHC and Millensys to discuss implementing cutting-edge AI technologies and digital health solutions in Egypt's healthcare sector. The meeting emphasized collaboration to enhance diagnostic precision, improve patient care, and advance digital health infrastructure.
Dr. El-Sobky highlighted that artificial intelligence (AI) and digital health enhancement are core strategic goals for the Authority's next phase. He stated, "Adopting state-of-the-art AI and digital solutions will not only improve healthcare quality but also leverage big data to provide innovative, efficient medical care."
The Authority is collaborating with MHC to integrate advanced AI technologies for remote diagnostics, particularly targeting cancer types such as lung, breast, prostate, and thyroid cancers. This initiative aims to elevate diagnostic accuracy and streamline comprehensive care through cutting-edge technological solutions.
Partnership discussions with Millensys centered on completing the RIS/PACS electronic imaging archiving project, which optimizes medical imaging management and ensures data efficiency. Dr. El-Sobky also announced plans to bolster the operations of the Ismailia Virtual Hospital, leveraging digital health innovations to deliver high-quality, integrated healthcare services.
The Authority currently manages a repository of over half a billion medical images, positioning it as a leader in AI-driven healthcare advancements. Dr. El-Sobky noted, "AI can analyze medical images with speed and precision, improving diagnosis and patient outcomes."
Dr. El-Sobky emphasized AI's role in enhancing patient experiences, reducing radiation exposure, ensuring safety, and predicting complications. By expanding service access, AI technology saves time and reduces healthcare costs. He also underscored the Authority's commitment to adopting the Point-of-Care (POC) model for rapid, direct medical services, marking a transformative step in healthcare quality and patient outcomes.
