The Egypt Healthcare Authority has announced the convening of the Emergency and Crisis Management Room, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Supervisor General of the universal Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population. This is part of the medical insurance plan for the 2024 Eid Al-Adha celebrations from June 15 to June 20.
The central emergency room, led by the Healthcare Authority, includes the Executive Director of the Authority, the Assistant Executive Director for Digital Transformation, the Head of the Central Administration for Health and Therapeutic Affairs, the General Manager for Research and Development and supervisor of the emergency room, and other key department heads. This room coordinates around the clock with the emergency room of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Egyptian Ambulance Organization.
The emergency plan for the Eid Al-Adha celebrations in 2024 is based on five main pillars:
The statement further explained that the main tasks of the emergency room members begin with a meeting at the headquarters of the Authority, attended by the Executive Director and other leaders. The central emergency and crisis room convenes daily with representatives from relevant departments to maintain continuous monitoring and prepare a detailed daily report throughout the days of the plan.
Additionally, Dr. El-Sobky directed the formation of six emergency and crisis rooms at the branches of the Authority in the governorates with comprehensive health insurance. Each branch's emergency room is led by the branch manager and includes managers from various departments. These branch rooms operate 24/7, ensuring daily and continuous monitoring within each governorate.
Dr. El-Sobky emphasized that establishing a central emergency and crisis room at the Authority's headquarters, along with branch rooms in the governorates, is a vital step within the medical insurance plan for the Eid Al-Adha celebrations. This arrangement aims to ensure a rapid and effective response to any health emergencies that may occur during the celebrations, enhancing the readiness of the healthcare system to provide immediate and necessary care to citizens, thereby preserving their health and safety.
