The Board of Directors Tasks the Executive Management with Developing a Plan for Expanding Services at the Women’s Health Center in Port Said, and Introducing New Services into the Universal Health Insurance System.

The Board Approves the Plan for Adding New Buildings for Outpatient Clinics and Integrated Oral Health Services at Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital within the “Nurture You in Egypt” Medical Tourism Program.

The Board of Directors Approves the Final Report on the Assets Handover Committee in Five Governorates of the First Phase of the Universal Health Insurance System, and Grants Rewards for Their Outstanding Efforts.

The Board Approves the Payment of Rewards to Those Involved in the Admission Tests for Nursing Institutes in the Canal and Luxor Governorates for the 2024/2025 Academic Year.


The Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, headed by Dr. Ahmed El-Sebki, Chairman of the Board and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, has tasked the Executive Management with preparing an executive plan to develop services at the Women’s Health Center in Port Said, as part of efforts to integrate new services into the Universal Health Insurance System.

This came during the 80th regular meeting of the Board of Directors, held at the Authority's headquarters in Nasr City, Cairo. The meeting discussed several key topics and made important decisions.

During the meeting, the Board announced plans to add a building for outpatient clinics and another for integrated oral health services at Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital. These new additions are part of the Authority’s Medical Tourism Program under the brand "Nurture You in Egypt." The Board emphasized that these plans will enhance the quality of medical services provided to citizens at healthcare facilities within Universal Health Insurance governorates.

Additionally, the Board approved the final report of the Assets Handover Committee, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 3957 of 2023, concerning the transfer of healthcare assets in five governorates from the first phase of the Universal Health Insurance System. These governorates include Suez, Aswan, South Sinai, Ismailia, and Luxor. The Board directed that rewards be given to the members of the Assets Handover Committee in recognition of their outstanding performance and the distinguished work they did in executing their tasks.

The Board also approved the disbursement of rewards to those involved in the admission tests for nursing institutes affiliated with the Authority in the Canal governorates (Port Said, Ismailia, Suez), as well as Luxor Governorate, for the 2024/2025 academic year. These tests are vital in ensuring the selection of competent personnel who will contribute to the development of the nursing sector in Egypt.

It is important to note that the Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority holds regular monthly meetings to discuss the most important topics related to work development proposals, policies, and future plans. The aim is to ensure the continued regulation and high-quality delivery of healthcare services to beneficiaries of the Universal Health Insurance System and all those involved, with professional standards and global quality.

The 80th meeting was attended by the following members of the Board of Directors: Dr. Hani Rashid, Deputy Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority; Dr. Ihab Abu-Eish, Deputy Chairman of the Universal Health Insurance System; Dr. Osama Abdel-Hai, President of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate; Dr. Sami Saad, President of the Egyptian Physical Therapy Syndicate; Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud, President of the Egyptian Nursing Syndicate and Member of the Senate; Dr. Fared Moharam, Healthcare Cost Accounting Expert and Economic Advisor to the Egypt Healthcare Authority; Dr. Ibrahim Fakhr, Civil Society Member and Healthcare Expert; and Counselor Mohamed Farouk Mousa, Deputy Head of the State Council.

The meeting was attended virtually by Dr. Faten Abdel-Aziz, Professor at the Egyptian Drug Authority and Member of the Pharmacists Syndicate Management Committee, and Dr. Ihab Heikal, President of the Egyptian Dental Syndicate.

From the Egypt Healthcare Authority, the meeting was attended by: Dr. Ahmed Hamad, Senior Advisor to the Chairman for Health Policies and Systems and General Director of the Technical Office of the Chairman; Dr. Mahmoud El-Shahat, General Director of the Internal Audit Department; Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, General Director of the Legal Department; Ms. Rasha Shaker, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority; and Mr. Ahmed Meselhy, Member of the Technical Office of the Deputy Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority.
