After he visited France, the Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority visited Foch Hospital, one of the largest private hospitals in Paris.

The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority announced the signing of a twinning program with Foch Hospitals, set to begin implementation in January. The program will focus on knowledge transfer in lung and uterine transplantation, as well as interventional radiology, and will involve expert visits to enhance the capabilities of medical professionals and continue improving the quality of care in line with global developments.

The General Manager of Foch Hospitals, Dr. Jacques Léglise, highlighted the significant opportunity for successful collaboration with the Egypt Healthcare Authority, noting that Egypt possesses rare and exceptional medical competencies that can greatly contribute to shared success.


Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance project, conducted a site visit to Foch Hospital in Paris, one of the largest private hospitals in the French capital.

This visit marked the conclusion of Dr. El-Sobky’s participation in the Egypt-France Business Forum, which took place in Paris to strengthen economic relations between the two nations.

Upon his arrival at Foch Hospital, Dr. El-Sobky was welcomed by Dr. Jérôme Weinbach, Deputy Director for International and European Affairs of the Ministry of Labor, Health, and Solidarity; Dr. Jacques Léglise, General Manager of Foch Hospitals; Mr. Émile Jouki, Executive Director of the French Healthcare Association; representatives from the French Development Agency (AFD); and department heads from the hospital.

Dr. El-Sobky emphasized that this visit is part of the Egypt Healthcare Authority's ongoing efforts to explore global best practices in healthcare, enhance international collaboration in adopting medical innovations, and ultimately improve the quality of healthcare services in Egypt.

He highlighted Foch Hospital as a leader in its field, boasting 600 beds and providing a wide range of medical services. The hospital maintains a high standard of healthcare, with a team of specialist physicians committed to meeting the needs of international patients while ensuring the highest standards of quality and comfort.

During the tour, Dr. El-Sobky had the opportunity to observe the latest technologies used in diagnosis and treatment. Discussions also covered potential future collaborations between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Foch Hospital, focusing on twinning programs to exchange expertise in advanced and multidisciplinary healthcare.

He further announced the signing of a twinning program with Foch Hospitals, to be launched in January. The twinning program will facilitate knowledge transfer in lung and uterine transplants as well as interventional radiology. It will include expert visits aimed at enhancing the skills of healthcare professionals, ensuring continuous improvement in healthcare quality, and aligning with global advancements.

Dr. El-Sobky concluded by stressing the importance of these site visits in gaining insight into successful international experiences. He reaffirmed the Egypt Healthcare Authority's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and building strategic partnerships with global healthcare institutions. These efforts aim to elevate healthcare services to meet international standards while fostering innovation and leadership in Egypt's healthcare sector.

Dr. Jacques Léglise, General Manager of Foch Hospitals, expressed his pleasure with the visit and commended the pivotal role played by the Egypt Healthcare Authority in developing the country's healthcare system. He emphasized that cooperation with the Authority represented a significant opportunity for exchanging expertise and praised Egypt's rare and highly skilled medical capabilities, which could greatly contribute to mutual success.

Dr. Léglise added that Foch Hospitals are eager to strengthen this cooperation through the agreed-upon twinning programs, which will open new avenues for innovation and knowledge exchange, ultimately enhancing healthcare quality in both countries and advancing the fields of medicine and healthcare on a global level.

It is noteworthy that the Egypt-France Business Forum is a major event aimed at boosting economic relations between Egypt and France. The forum brings together representatives from both governments and the private sector to explore opportunities for collaboration in various fields, including healthcare, technology, and investment, and to attract French investments while enhancing the role of the private sector in improving services, thereby contributing to Egypt’s Vision 2030.
