▪︎Head of the Health Care Authority:
The International Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine includes 18 outpatient clinics and 50 inpatient beds. It provides specialized services in physical therapy, hydrotherapy, prosthetics, artificial respiration, and motor and neurological evaluation
The International Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine offers an integrated rehabilitation experience under one roof. It contributes to reducing the costs of treatment abroad, supporting Egypt's bid to host the Olympics, and attracting investments in sports medicine and medical tourism

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care, confirmed during the expanded field visit to Ismailia Governorate today the volume of services provided and the ongoing development efforts in a number of health facilities affiliated with the Authority, stressing that what has been achieved on the ground reflects the Authority's commitment to providing integrated health services with the highest standards of quality and international accreditation.
During the tour, Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care; and Major General Akram Mohamed Galal, Governor of Ismailia, inspected the ongoing construction work at the International Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, which is scheduled to be linked to the Olympic Village as part of the Egyptian state's efforts to develop rehabilitation and sports medicine services in accordance with the highest international standards.


The inspection tour also included following up on the construction work of the Ismailia Medical Complex warehouses, which will work in integration with the strategic warehouses of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Purchasing, Medical Supply and Logistics, and Medical Technology Management in a way that enhances the drug and logistical supply system within the comprehensive health insurance system in the governorate.
Professor Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, said, "We are moving steadily towards building a smart health system that supports Egypt's leadership in sports medicine and medical tourism by involving all actors from the public, private, and civil sectors." He stressed that the medical facilities affiliated with the General Authority for Health Care embody an advanced model of comprehensive health care and contribute to achieving sustainable health development in accordance with the state's plan to advance the health sector. Praising the real boom in health infrastructure witnessed by Ismailia Governorate under the umbrella of comprehensive health insurance.


Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Authority for Health Care, explained that the International Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine will include 18 outpatient clinics, 50 inpatient beds, and an integrated department for radiology and medical analysis, in addition to specialized services in motor rehabilitation, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, artificial respiration, prosthetics, motor and neurological evaluation, and pain control, thus providing the center with an integrated rehabilitation experience under one roof.

Al-Sobki added that the center aims to reduce the costs of treatment abroad in the fields of sports and rehabilitation medicine, in addition to supporting Egypt's bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games, stressing that the center will represent a promising attraction point for investment in the field of sports medicine and medical tourism in Egypt.
For his part, Major General Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia, stressed that we are working on permanent coordination with the Health Care Authority and full connectivity between the authorities to maximize the benefit from all state assets in the governorate to provide an advanced model for government services and enhance Ismailia's readiness as a leading governorate in providing rehabilitation services and specialized medical care.


It should be noted that the field visit to Ismailia Governorate today includes inspecting a number of other health facilities affiliated with the Authority in the governorate, including Tal Al-Kabir Hospital and the Old Al-Mahsama Family Medicine Center, in addition to inspecting the Oncology Hospital in Ismailia.
