Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky witnessed the signing of a bilateral protocol between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Gypto Pharma City

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky witnessed the signing of a bilateral protocol between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Gypto Pharma City, aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare services and localizing the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt.

The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority highlighted that the main areas of cooperation between the two sides include creating a roadmap to enhance the use of national products that meet international standards within the medical city. This cooperation also involves exchanging expertise to enhance healthcare providers' capabilities.

Dr. El-Sobky stated that the collaboration would focus on fields such as scientific research, pharmaceutical development, and the transfer of knowledge to senior consultants within the medical city to acquaint them with the technological and technical capabilities and the standards of good manufacturing practices at the highest level of quality.

The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority emphasized that localizing the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt and achieving self-sufficiency are top priorities for the political leadership.

He appreciated the strategic partnership with Gypto Pharma City to enhance Egypt's position on the international health map.

The Chairman of Gypto Pharma City stated that enabling Egyptian patients to access safe, effective, and high-quality medication, achieving pharmaceutical security, reducing monopolies, and establishing a regional pharmaceutical industry center attractive to global pharmaceutical companies are top priorities for "Gypto Pharma."

The Chairman of Gypto Pharma City expressed his pleasure in partnering with the Egypt Healthcare Authority. He confirmed that the outcome of this partnership would have a positive and lasting impact on society as a whole.

He praised the significant role played by the Egypt Healthcare Authority and its impact on the Egyptian citizens in provinces implementing the universal health coverage system.


Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, the Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, oversaw the signing of the bilateral cooperation protocol between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Gypto Pharma City "Gypto Pharma". The areas covered by the protocol include enhancing the medical service providers' awareness and the efficacy and safety of Egyptian medication, invigorating scientific research, publishing research papers in international journals, and exchanging expertise.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Amir Telwany, the Executive Director of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, representing the Authority, and Dr. Amr Mamdouh, President of Gypto Pharma City and the City's Executive Director, representing "Gypto Pharma".

The heads of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Gypto Pharma City expressed that the bilateral cooperation protocol reflects both sides' aspiration to make Egypt a strategic hub for exporting medicines abroad, enhancing Egypt's standing in the international health sector, and strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors to enhance the capabilities of human resources and healthcare providers.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky explained that the bilateral cooperation protocol with Gypto Pharma includes a roadmap to enhance the use of quality national products according to the international standards practiced within the medical city, as well as fostering cooperation in areas of scientific research and pharmaceutical development by transferring knowledge to senior consultants within the medical city to familiarize them with technological and technical capabilities and the application of good manufacturing and quality standards.

The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority added that the protocol stipulates the development and building of capabilities for training doctors and medical staff on the latest diagnostic and treatment methods through regular workshops for healthcare providers, in addition to enhancing international cooperation and transferring pharmaceutical expertise abroad through the national participation of Gypto Pharma.

He also highlighted that the ability to manufacture medicines locally is considered a national security guarantee, ensuring that citizens have access to high-quality, effective medications at reasonable prices. He noted that localizing the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt and achieving self-sufficiency are top priorities for the political leadership, praising the global quality achieved by "Gypto Pharma" and expressing pride in this Egyptian national institution and its world-class capabilities and facilities.

Dr. Amr Mamdouh, President of Gypto Pharma City, emphasized that the city's priorities include enabling Egyptian patients to access safe, effective, and high-quality drugs, achieving pharmaceutical security, reducing monopolies, and establishing a regional center for the pharmaceutical industry that attracts global pharmaceutical companies. This aligns with the state's direction towards localizing the pharmaceutical industry and enhancing the efforts made by the state in the field of various medical and health services for citizens, noting that Gypto Pharma is intended to become a regional and global hub for the pharmaceutical industry in line with global technology, contributing to the achievement of community responsibility in achieving pharmaceutical security.

He expressed his happiness with the partnership with the Egypt Healthcare Authority, noting its pivotal role and its significant achievements in the Egyptian health sector, asserting that the returns from this partnership will have a positive and lasting impact on society as a whole.
