In preparation for the official operation of the Universal Health Insurance System in Aswan, the Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and the Governor of Aswan welcomed the Head of the Health Committee, its members from the House of Representatives, and the parliamentary delegation for a visit to the healthcare facilities affiliated with the Egypt Healthcare Authority in the governorate.
The Health Committee members from the House of Representatives inspected Aswan's specialized hospitals, the Nile, Kom Ombo, Daraw, Nasr El-Nuba hospitals, and several centers and family medicine units to evaluate the pilot operation phase of the healthcare system in the governorate.
The Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority stated that 11 hospitals 112 centers and family medicine units are in place to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the people of Aswan. He noted that 1.2 million citizens are registered in the Universal Health Insurance System in Aswan, with 90 healthcare facilities received to operate in providing healthcare services in the governorate. More than 250,000 medical services have been provided to the citizens of Aswan since the start of the system's pilot operation.
The Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority affirmed the support of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the Universal Insurance System, ensuring the provision of high-quality medical services to citizens and as a fundamental pillar for comprehensive health reform in Egypt. He also appreciated the continuous support of the House of Representatives for the Egypt Healthcare Authority, emphasizing the Authority's commitment to its vital role in regulating and providing healthcare services to citizens in the provinces applying the system according to international standards.
