The CEO of the International Hospital Federation welcomed the Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority during a visit to Switzerland's largest hospitals.

The Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority inspected various departments at Geneva University Hospitals and La Tour Hospital, Geneva's largest private hospital. He was briefed on the latest management systems, operations, and innovations in healthcare.

The Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority announced an agreement to sign a cooperation protocol with Geneva University Hospitals to exchange expertise, train human resources, and initiate twinning and shadowing programs.

He highlighted initiatives to develop women's health services in collaboration with Geneva University Hospitals, incorporating mental and psychological health services into the comprehensive packages of the Universal Health Insurance system, following recommendations from the national dialogue.

An agreement was also reached to sign a cooperation protocol with La Tour Hospital and a twinning program to transfer expertise and operations to the soon-to-be-opened Ismailia Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital.

The Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority emphasized the ongoing development of healthcare services as a priority for building a healthcare system that meets all the needs and aspirations of citizens and achieves universal health coverage. He affirmed the commitment to advancing international collaborations to adopt best practices and modern technologies in global healthcare.

The Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority also discussed with the CEO of the International Hospital Federation the latest developments in the Federation's Board of Governors, representing Africa and the Middle East, and discussed the final preparations for the upcoming Global Hospital Forum in Brazil this September.

He expressed anticipation for Egypt to host the 49th Global Hospital Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh in 2026, noting that organizing the forum in Egypt would significantly enhance its regional and international leadership in healthcare and offer a golden opportunity to showcase the country's achievements and investment opportunities, promoting medical tourism in Egypt.

The Chief stressed the importance of collaboration with the International Hospital Federation and the representation of the Egypt Healthcare Authority for Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East on the Federation's Board of Governors to support and enhance healthcare systems in the region, in line with President El-Sisi's directives to elevate the Egyptian healthcare system to a global standard and provide full support to the region.

The CEO of the International Hospital Federation expressed pleasure at the Egypt Healthcare Authority's membership and its enhancement of international cooperation, confirming its promising future and international standing. He noted that Egypt is experiencing significant healthcare advancements, reflecting the political will to develop healthcare services to the highest international standards.
