Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care and Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance project, met with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), including Mr. Alessandro Fracassetti, the Resident Representative of the program in Egypt, Mr. Mohamed Bayoumi, Team Leader of the Environment in the program, and Mr. Abdel Razek Abu Al-Ela, Program Manager, at the Authority's headquarters in Cairo.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky expressed his pride in the distinguished relationship between the Authority and the United Nations Development Programme, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation in various health and environmental projects. He praised the program's efforts in supporting the Authority's goals in sustainability, health awareness, and digital transformation, stressing the Authority's commitment to achieving environmental sustainability in line with the Egyptian state's directions in this field.
Dr. El-Sobky mentioned that the Authority aims to launch a joint program with the United Nations Development Programme to support innovative solutions for rationalizing the consumption of energy and water through electronic Building Management Systems (BMS), noting that "Ismailia Medical Complex" will be the first phase of this program. He also discussed cooperation in operating the virtual hospital in Ismailia with the latest equipment and technologies to ensure the provision of distinguished health services in line with technological advancements.
Dr. El-Sobky stressed the importance of developing relationships with the United Nations Development Programme to enhance innovation in health service delivery, expand green projects and environmental sustainability in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 goals, noting that these cooperations would contribute to achieving the sustainable and comprehensive development that Egypt aims to achieve.
On his part, Mr. Alessandro Fracassetti praised the Health Care Authority's efforts in implementing green transformation projects, expressing pride in the success of the program's cooperation with the Authority in Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital. He also praised the Authority's achievement of the International Hospital Federation Award in health sustainability and community responsibility, emphasizing the importance of documenting the experience and success story with the program and expanding the scope of cooperation in the future.
Mr. Fracassetti also praised Egypt's efforts in containing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Sudan, appreciating the Health Care Authority's efforts in providing high-quality services to Sudanese brothers in Luxor and Aswan. He expressed appreciation for the Authority's efforts in developing the health system in line with international standards, confirming the continuation of cooperation to support more joint projects.
