The meeting also focused on localizing pharmaceutical and medical supply manufacturing in Egypt to align with local market demands. An agreement was reached to create a platform connecting EHA with Malaysian manufacturers, in coordination with the Egyptian Drug Authority and the Unified Procurement Authority. This initiative aims to increase self-sufficiency in medical supplies and enhance supply chain resilience.

The program aims to provide hands-on training in Egypt’s leading medical facilities, benefiting both Egyptian and Malaysian healthcare professionals.
Additionally, the meeting addressed mechanisms for providing healthcare services to uninsured Malaysian students residing in Egypt, ensuring they receive high-quality medical care, whether inside or outside Universal Health Insurance governorates.
The Chairman of EHA highlighted the potential of attracting Malaysian patients for treatment in EHA hospitals, particularly under the ‘We Care for You in Egypt’ medical tourism brand.
