Dr. El-Sobky: Strategic partnerships with the private sector enhance primary care and bring innovative solutions closer to citizens
The General Authority for Healthcare (Egypt Healthcare Authority – EHA), in cooperation with Pharco Pharmaceuticals and Egypt Pharmacists Club, launched a new wave of mobile clinics within its national campaign “Ramadan for the Health of Every Family.” The initiative aims to expand access to essential medical services for citizens across the Universal Health Insurance (UHI) governorates during the holy month of Ramadan.
Starting in Aswan, the mobile clinics moved to Luxor (until March 17), followed by Suez (March 18–21), and then South Sinai (March 22–28). The clinics offer early screening services for chronic conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension, as well as routine health checks, patient education, awareness activities, and comprehensive services aligned with the national campaign.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the EHA and General Supervisor of the UHI Project, emphasized that this initiative reflects the Authority’s commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare directly to communities, especially in governorates under the Universal Health Insurance system. He noted that the mobile clinics are part of the Authority’s strategic direction to strengthen primary healthcare services and provide innovative, accessible care to all citizens.
He added that collaborating with leading private-sector partners, such as Pharco Pharmaceuticals and Egypt Pharmacists Club, helps improve service quality and sustain public health campaigns. These collaborations demonstrate the potential for effective public-private partnerships in enhancing healthcare delivery across Egypt.
Dr. El-Sobky further highlighted that mobile clinics are a major step toward integrated community care, allowing the Authority to strengthen disease prevention, promote early diagnosis, and reduce the burden of chronic illness—particularly among vulnerable populations such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and patients with high-risk conditions.
On behalf of Pharco, Chairman Dr. Sherine Helmy reaffirmed the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting Egypt’s healthcare transformation, especially during Ramadan. He noted that mobile clinics serve as impactful tools to reach underserved populations, aligning with the company’s social responsibility goals and the nation’s healthcare priorities.
From the Egypt Pharmacists Club, Chairman Dr. Mohamed Esmat confirmed the organization’s role in supporting national health initiatives. Secretary General Dr. Rehab El-Fakharany stated that the Club is proud to contribute to public health awareness and to promote better medical services for the community.
Background on the Campaign:
Originally launched in 2022, the “Ramadan for the Health of Every Family” campaign is now in its fourth consecutive year. It provides comprehensive care for patients with diabetes, hypertension, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those classified as high-risk, especially during Ramadan when medical follow-up becomes even more critical.
In 2025, the campaign aims to reach 440,000 beneficiaries in the six UHI governorates (Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Suez, Aswan) through 575 mobile medical teams. These teams conduct home visits, early disease detection, and health education, ultimately working to improve quality of life and reduce complications associated with chronic diseases.
The services offered include:
By integrating prevention and treatment, the campaign reaffirms the EHA’s commitment to delivering top-tier healthcare to all Egyptians, especially those most in need.
