Chairman of the Healthcare Authority Announces Addition of MRI Services at Karnak International Hospital in Luxor with a Cost of EGP 50 Million

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, announced the addition of MRI services at Karnak International Hospital in Luxor, with an investment of EGP 50 million. This development reflects the Authority’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services by incorporating cutting-edge medical technologies that cater to beneficiaries’ needs and elevate the quality of care provided.

Dr. El-Sobky highlighted that the MRI services at Karnak International Hospital utilize state-of-the-art imaging technologies, offering precise and comprehensive diagnostic capabilities. These advanced tools are pivotal in supporting medical decision-making and delivering integrated healthcare services that ensure patient satisfaction.

He further noted that MRI services are now available across four hospitals in Luxor Governorate: Luxor International Medical Complex, Horus Specialized Hospital, Tiba Specialized Hospital, and Karnak International Hospital. This expansion aims to improve accessibility to advanced medical services for residents throughout the governorate.

Dr. El-Sobky emphasized the achievements of Karnak International Hospital, which has provided one million medical and therapeutic services and performed 69,000 advanced surgical procedures for Universal Health Insurance beneficiaries to date. These milestones underscore the hospital’s efficiency and the Authority’s dedication to delivering world-class healthcare services.

He also pointed out that the addition of MRI services marks the third major enhancement at Karnak International Hospital in January, following the inauguration of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and the endoscopy department. These developments align with the Authority’s mission to enhance the hospital's capabilities and provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare services.

Reaffirming the Authority’s commitment to expanding and improving healthcare services, Dr. El-Sobky stated that upgrading facilities with the latest medical technologies is a top priority. He emphasized that these advancements are critical to ensuring that healthcare services meet the highest global quality standards, reinforcing the Authority’s mission to provide superior care to all beneficiaries.
