Head of the Health Care Authority: Completing the transfer of 26 health facilities to the Suez Governorate Healthcare Authority

The Egypt Healthcare Authority, under the distinguished leadership of Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Supervisor General for the projects of universal health insurance and Haya Kareema within the Ministry of Health and Population, has successfully concluded the transfer of assets and affiliation of 26 medical entities. This includes 25 family health centers and units as well as the Suez Medical Complex, into the jurisdiction of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, under Cabinet Resolution No. 4236 of the year 2022.

Dr. El-Sobky has formally recognized the achievement of preliminary accreditation by 18 family medicine centers and units associated with the Authority in Suez, in alignment with the GAHAR national accreditation standards, which enjoy international recognition. This underscores the Authority's dedicated commitment to providing healthcare services that meet the highest international quality standards to the citizens.

In addition, Dr. El-Sobky has announced the complete implementation of digitalization processes, activation of digital transformation strategies, and the application of universal health insurance systems across 25 family health centers and units in Suez. This comprehensive digitalization includes outpatient clinics, inpatient departments, emergency services, and dialysis services at the Suez Medical Complex, as well as the integration of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) in 25 facilities and the electronic archiving of radiology (PACS) in four facilities.

Dr. El-Sobky has highlighted the paramount importance of the human resources at the Authority, affirming that the optimal functioning of the Egypt Healthcare Authority's facilities in Suez is ensured by the dedicated efforts of 7,400 professionals. This team, comprising physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, support medical services, and administrative staff, diligently provides services across 26 medical and therapeutic facilities, delivering medical and therapeutic care to the beneficiaries of the universal health insurance system within the province.

He further detailed the financial investment in the universal health insurance system in Suez, marking the finalization of the first phase of the system's rollout across the provinces. The investment included EGP 2.1 billion for the development of infrastructure for hospitals, centers, and health units, EGP 630 million for the procurement of medical and non-medical equipment for these facilities, and EGP 450 million for operational costs over a period of three months, amounting to a total expenditure of EGP 3.18 billion.
