Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority participated in the closing session, highlighting the significance of the forum as a platform

During the Africa Health ExCon 2024, the Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority participated in the closing session, highlighting the significance of the forum as a platform for Egyptian, African, and international cooperation. Praising the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, he noted that it deepens the event’s impact on enhancing health cooperation and developing healthcare both continentally and globally.

The Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority articulated that the Africa Health ExCon signifies a substantial shift in Egyptian-African cooperation, appreciating the efforts of the Unified Procurement Authority in successfully organizing the first three editions of the forum. He stressed that the forum serves as an opportunity to invigorate investments in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and medical technology—a strategic goal for Egypt.

He detailed that Egypt’s participation in the forum successfully highlighted its achievements in health reform and universal health insurance. Meetings with senior health officials from Africa were held, alongside discussions on critical topics, signing several protocols, agreements, MoUs, and contracts, all enhancing Egypt’s global and regional leadership in healthcare, technology, and investment.

He expressed satisfaction with the participation and commended the organizers for the successful event, affirming the commitment to adopting and implementing the forum’s recommendations to ensure the provision of outstanding health services and envisioning a future for an integrated healthcare system in Egypt and Africa.

The Chief emphasized the importance of international and regional cooperation in healthcare, insisting on collaborative efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and provide comprehensive and equitable healthcare for all.

The forum, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and attended by notable government officials, served as a significant venue for discussing the latest developments and innovations in healthcare, showcasing Egypt’s medical advancements and discussing the challenges African healthcare systems face. The closing session also presented a recap of the discussions and agreements throughout the event, highlighting strategies to improve healthcare services across Africa.
