Egypt & Canada Partner for Virtual Healthcare in Africa

During the Africa Health ExCon 2024 events...

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the Egypt Health Care Authority, and the Canadian Ambassador witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between the Egypt Health Care Authority and Health Espresso to collaborate in providing virtual services through consultations and medical telecommunication in African countries.

Dr. El-Sobky stated that the cooperation with Health Espresso includes training healthcare providers at the Authority's facilities to enhance their efficiency in using online platforms for effective telemedicine and fostering a culture of innovation in healthcare.

Dr. El-Sobky added that the collaboration with Health Espresso will also include twinning programs with major hospitals in Canada, notably "Lakeridge Health," to exchange expertise, develop human resources, and share medical cases.

Dr. El-Sobky noted that Canada's healthcare system is considered an advanced global model to be emulated, and the Authority is proud to cooperate with the Canadian Embassy in many health fields.

Dr. El-Sobky highlighted that the collaboration with Health Espresso is in execution of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to enhance the digital era to revolutionize healthcare, enhance the use of technology, remote diagnosis, and treatment, and provide full support to brothers in African countries.

The Canadian Ambassador in Cairo expressed his pride in his tenure in Egypt, stating, "Egypt is a great country full of resources and talents, and healthcare support should be mutual among all countries."

Mr. Rick Mensah, CEO of Health Espresso, expressed pride in participating in the healthcare boom in Egypt through cooperation with the Egypt Health Care Authority and looked forward to a brighter, healthier future for everyone.

This agreement aims to collaborate in providing virtual services through consultations and medical telecommunication in African countries, during the Africa Health ExCon 2024 events.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Amir Talawani, Executive Director of the Egypt Health Care Authority, representing the Authority, and Mr. Rick Mensah, CEO of Health Espresso, representing the company.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky stated during the signing that the collaboration with Health Espresso includes training healthcare providers in the Authority's facilities to enhance their proficiency in using online platforms for telemedicine effectively and to promote a culture of innovation in healthcare.

He added that the cooperation would also involve twinning programs with major hospitals in Canada, including "Lakeridge Health," to exchange expertise, develop human resources, and share medical cases.

Dr. El-Sobky emphasized that Canada's healthcare system is a globally advanced model and expressed pride in the Authority's cooperation with the Canadian Embassy in numerous health areas. He explained that the collaboration with Health Espresso follows President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to promote entry into the digital age to revolutionize healthcare and enhance the use of technology and remote diagnosis and treatment while providing full support to brethren in African countries.

Ambassador Louis Dumas expressed his pride in his tenure in Egypt, noting that Egypt is a great country rich in resources and talent, and that healthcare support should be reciprocal among all nations.

Mr. Rick Mensah, CEO of Health Espresso, expressed his pride in participating in Egypt's healthcare surge through cooperation with the Egypt Health Care Authority, emphasizing the importance of this partnership in enhancing healthcare services and innovation, and looking forward to a brighter, healthier future for all.

It should be noted that the medical conference and exhibition "Africa Health 2024," held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, organized by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and Technology Management under the slogan "Your Gateway to Innovation and Trade," takes place at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo from June 3 to 6 this year.

The Africa Health ExCon 2024 events witnessed the presence of many prominent figures and specialists in the healthcare field, where the latest innovations and technologies in virtual healthcare services were showcased. The signing of this agreement reflects the Egypt Health Care Authority's commitment to developing and improving the level of healthcare services in Egypt and African countries through adopting the latest technologies and cooperating with international partners to achieve sustainable development goals in the health sector.
