In Cairo, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chief of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, and Sir Magdi Yacoub, founder and chairman of the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, along with Dr. Hani Rashid, Deputy Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, witnessed the signing of a bilateral cooperation protocol between the Authority and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Amir Telwany, the Executive Director of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, representing the Authority, and Dr. Mohamed Zakaria, the Director of the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation Hospital, representing the Foundation.
Dr. El-Sobky expressed that the collaboration with the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation is a crucial step in enhancing the healthcare services provided by the Authority. Through this partnership, the Authority aims to leverage the Foundation's global expertise in adult and pediatric cardiology, particularly in high-skill medical interventions such as cardiac catheterization and surgeries. This collaboration will enhance the capability to offer advanced medical services to Egyptian citizens and ensure the highest standards of healthcare.
Furthermore, Dr. El-Sobky highlighted that the protocol includes training medical teams at the Authority's health facilities, led by experts from the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, to continuously improve the efficiency of medical services and healthcare quality across Egypt. He affirmed the commitment to develop the skills of medical teams to ensure the best possible healthcare for citizens.
Dr. El-Sobky also stated, "The vision of the Egypt Healthcare Authority aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's vision to develop the universal health insurance system and provide dignified healthcare for the great Egyptian people.
